If my memory serves me right [and it sometimes does not!],wasn't there a signal received in the 50's-60's-70's [I don't remember the date] from the area of Beatleguse [a dying red giant star, about to go supernova] that the signal said something like "we are moving from the second star to the 3rd". We never could follow up on that signal, by then the star enveloped the 3rd planet.

I have always felt that we were not the only intelligent lifeforms out here. To quote a movie "it would seem a offel waste of space"

Just don't forget to breathe. And if you get to flustered, just sit down, think of un-sexy things (Helen Thomas in a tube top) and you'll calm right down.

Apparently, aliens are concerned that Notre Dame is ranked so high in the BCS poll released yesterday.

Rutgers at #16!

Even alien civilizations are shocked and cannot keep quiet about it.

Someone please define "center of the Universe." Where, exactly, is that?

From what I understand, it's from inside the Beltway of Wash DC.... somewhere around Pennsylvania Ave.

Or that the Longhorns are ranked so low:

ET: Wait, you've got the defending national champions behind a team with no defense? That's just messed up.

Forget the signal, I'm impressed that they were able to locate Bill Clintons house.

"The recollections of one Michael Chambers, with appropriate flashbacks and soliloquy. Or more simply stated, the evolution of man, the cycle of going from dust to dessert, the metamorphosis from being the ruler of a planet to an ingredient in someone's soup. It's tonight's bill of fare on The Twilight Zone."

Oh, darn (from your first link):

Editor's update: for all of you out there who have been waving your arms around and speculating, this is not an announcement about finding a signal from ETs, the face on Mars, or anything else. It is far more mundane. Details of the announcement were released - under press embargo - to reporters last week. A press release about the announcement will be issued on Tuesday by the SETI Institute

Someone please define "center of the Universe." Where, exactly, is that?

1) Take a standard flat map of the universe.
2) Using a yardstick and pencil, draw a line from the upper left corner to the lower right corner
3) Draw a second line from the upper right corner to the lower left corner

The center of the universe is where the two lines intersect.
