Are you sure you don't mean near the center of our galaxy? Seriously, all I see there is major SETI announcement. Couldn't that be that they've formed a partnership with someone or they're expanding or something like that?
I do not know how to respond to this. The serious side of me is doubtful of this. The homours side of me says that they are calling to say, the universe's problems are Bush's fault. ;-)
But really if a signal from an intelgent lifeform would change the way that we see the universe. Plus the history of mankind could be changed radically. We would not be the only intelgent spicies out here at all, and maybe [just] maybe all of us who have seen things in the skies may not all be crazy! Untill I hear more I will just be standing by for the standby, to recieve information.
But also remember what President Reagan said once at the u.n. about what it would take to unite the whole planet in peace....
