Prayer Thread for the Election
Me | 11/2/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/02/2006 9:13:31 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people. A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days. Proverbs 28: 15, 16

With the election coming, I ask those of you who wish to to join me in prayer for the election.

Father God, please grant our nation Your grace and mercy. In Jesus name we gather here to ask for Your hand on this election. Please open the eyes of our citizens. We pray they are moved to vote and vote wisely. We pray that those who would seek to corrupt are cast aside. We pray that those who cheat are exposed. Please grant this nation those leaders that would glorify You. Let it be so, in Jesus name, Amen.

I'm in.
I have been praying for the last few days. I was glad to see the prayer threads. The Lord brought to my mind, Amos 5:24..."Let justice flow down like waters and righteousness like an everlasting stream..."
This is found in a section of scriptue calling for repentance. We have much of which we are guilty before the Lord, but He knows we are trying to see that righteousness prevails, and that the power of baby-killers and those who would endanger and pervert the whole nation will be defeated, if we can do it in His strength.
I pray He will help us to bring forth justice and righteousness in the election tomorrow. I pray that He will rejoice the hearts of His people and give us the victory over liars and murderers.............I pray that Jesus is glorified by the Church.

Amen to your thoughts and prayer ...

It is unto You, O Lord, that we return, with hearts filled with praise for your loving kindness. Only by Your mercy have we been blessed ... only by Your grace have we been sustained ... only through the Blood of Christ can there be victory.

May those who have worked tirelessly to bring about righteous authority, rest well this night. May those who have worked tirelessly to bring about our destruction, find tortured thoughts in a sleepless night. May there be untold numbers in prayer that You would forgive ... that You would heal ... that You would lead ... that You would be glorified.

Merciful Father, may the salt of our tears preserve our beloved land ... may the desire of our hearts translate into a tidal wave of committed Americans intent on holding back an evil onslaught ... may we be bold and confident, for the battle, and the victory, belong to the Lord.

And may it be, Merciful Father, that a national awakening will take place throughout the day, and that this awakening will become an overwhelming mandate for precious life and Godly principles and values that are aligned with Your will and Your Word and Your way.

Thank You, Creator God, for bringing us to this moment in our nation's history ... may we be good stewards of this opportunity and responsible citizens of Your earthly realm.

To You, O God, be the Glory ... great things You have done, and continue to do. Blessed be Your Name, now and forevermore, Amen ...

I pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Moses:
the God of the Pauper, the Peasant, the Pawn,
to the God of the gale and the mountain -
the God of the fire and the flood...

Be merciful to me, a sinner.

The God of Love is also the God of Justice.

May we wait upon His Word, and when receiving it, act;
May we wait upon His mercy, and when receiving it, share;
May we wait upon His Will, and when receiving it, rejoice.

I pray to the God of All - You hear my prayer Oh God! To He Who Has Overcome the World, we lift our hands in praise!

In Christ's name, May It Be Done...

I pray that the Lord will bless our nation, and that leaders be elected tomorrow, who will do His will, and help to make our nation into one that is pleasing to Him.

I also pray that the plans of those who actively work against the Lord, who would attempt to remove even His name from society, I pray that all their plans be thwarted and that no one is deceived by them. I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

God Bless Our Native Land

God bless our native land!
Firm may she ever stand thro' storm and night!
When the wild tempests rave,
Ruler of wind and wave,
Do Thou our country save
By Thy great might.

For her our prayer shall rise
To God above the skies; on Him we wait.
Thou who are ever nigh,
Guarding with watchful eye,
To Thee aloud we cry,
God save the State!

Amen.

Election Morning Prayer Bump!

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.

Deuteronomy 30:19

Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.

Psalm 25:12

Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways; for the perverse man is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence.

Proverbs3: 31-32

O Father of us all, today, as this nation heads to select leaders, enter the hearts of all persons of good will, and guide them to choose the people and vote for the issues that will most please you and furhter your will. We ask your blessing on all those who work to keep the vote honest, and ask you to uncover and confound those who would intefere with this process.

Hold our nation in the palm of your hand, for even though there are those among our cultural leaders, in the media and in the schools who would tell is that black is white and white is black, there are many, many here who are working for your will, who are fighting to stand up for what is right and show the way to their fellow man. May these people be the salt and light and leaven this country needs to have it move in the way you would have us move.

In the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

This seemed to me like a great psalm to hold in the heart for today:

Psalm 64

Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint;
preserve my life from dread of the enemy,
hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
from the scheming of evildoers,
who whet their tongues like swords,
who aim bitter words like arrows,
shooting from ambush at the blameless,
shooting at him suddenly and without fear.
They hold fast to their evil purpose;
they talk of laying snares secretly,
thinking, "Who can see us?
Who can search out our crimes?
We have thought out a cunningly conceived plot."

For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep!
But God will shoot his arrow at them;
they will be wounded suddenly.
Because of their tongue he will bring them to ruin;
all who see them will wag their heads.
Then all men will fear;
they will tell what God has wrought,
and ponder what he has done.

Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD,
and take refuge in him!
Let all the upright in heart glory!
