The heavily democratic counties are kicking in in both Virginia and Missouri. The trends all over the country are undeniable. We are going to lose the Senate. Now, President, can you start wielding the veto a little bit (LOT!).
IBTZ!

In before the Zot!!!
Well, look at the bright side: after Bush pushes through illegal immigration, there won't be any Republicans to block his impeachment, so it will all be on the Democrats.
The only good news? McCain screwed himself out of a Majority Senate. I have no doubt he'd have prefered to be the tiebreaker, and now he'll have to bow to the Dems.
Insert something here about eggs hatching.
I understand that in VA there are many absentee ballots yet to be counted.
not really Corker has won..MO who knows...Allen who knows but i doubt both
Don't worry the democrats will use the "subpoena power" to root out the corruption. Not!
We will keep the Senate.
However, it will now be the right time for the president to veto a lot more than he has.
I love how people here start claiming folks are Zots because they are stating reality. Pathetic on your part.
I'm very worried about Allen also...the remaining counties are Democrat...period. I hope Talent hangs on, but with the crap that St. Louis has pulled over the years I don't know if he can.

Tell me Tony Snow didn't say this. Via a reader: "FoxNews reporting from the White House: White House spokesman Tony Snow reacted to the change in House control by allowing they're disappointed, but that it presents some intriguing opportunities, such as passing comprehensive immigration reform which failed in the previous Republican House."

Drudge shows Allen down almost 2,000 with 100% of vote in.
oh crap, here comes the 3 recounts funded by Hillary left over campaign money untill a box of ballots magically appears for Webb just like they pulled in Washington state in 2004.
its been stuck on that for a while
Regardless of who gets control, don't we expect anything but more gridlock from congress?
that statement makes me want to vomit. I bet you anything they defund the border fence.
"I understand that in VA there are many absentee ballots yet to be counted."
Nope. According to Fox News, most of the absentee ballots are counted with the regular votes.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
You mean the Senate. The House at least got stuff done. Now, we're counting on the veto pen, if there is one, that is if the dems can pull themselves away from impeachment long enough to pass a bill. And if they do, the first one will be to cut off funding for the troops and the second one will be a retro tax increase.
I'm not writing off Talent. Allen looks like a gonner. If Missouri picks McAskill, it would unfortunately bode very ill. If a relatively conservative state like Missouri goes with a complete twit like McAskill in a time of war, that speaks volumes about where this nation is headed in terms of foreign policy.
Allen is very close though. There is a very slight chance that a recount / count of military ballots puts him over the top, but I think it is very unlikely.
Looks like we lost it all tonight.
He does not. Drudge has Allen up with 1800 votes with 99.18% of the vote in. I just checked.
Yup! And you can bet that one won't get a veto when it comes to his desk. The MSM plays it like it is all about the war in Iraq. I don't believe that. I think that the base was ticked off about opens boarders as well. I did not vote for any democrats...so my concience is clear. But their are many people who formally voted Republican who did not do so this time. The message to the republicans is that they had better start listening to their base. Then hopefully they will gain controll again.
The house HAD the right take on illegal immigration, but the senate blocked any meaningful solutions.
So why should we expect anything different?
You can forget about any more judges getting through as well. If there is another SCOTUS opening, you can bet we will get screwed there as well.
Voters tonight across this country who put the RATS in power, just sent this country into a deep pile of SH!T. I hope they are all very proud of themselves.
What about absentees? 100% of precincts reporting and only a 2000 vote margin for Webb, the absentees could still put Allen over the top.
Now both will send bills up to the desk for signature and we don't know if the WH owns a veto pen.
Let them try. Most of the Dems that won are moderates. The Kos Kids and DU types will be screeching louder than ever about three days after the new Congress takes over in January, claiming "betrayal" because "their guys" aren't liberal enough.
The retirement announcement will probably come tomorrow (today).
The voters just screwed themselves re SCOTUS. Expect much more of the "eminent domain" type of votes from the court, as it will only get worse if another lib (or two) is appointed.
We will see how the Dems deal with Iraq, it's going to be a disaster. Also, if (when) there is another terrorist attack on US soil, we will see how the Dems handle the problem, not that well I predict.
The best candidates lost tonight, but really, our country has lost tonight - big time.
What makes you think Bush will yield the veto pen? Hasn't yet, more like kumbuyah.
Iraq has now become viet nam. History has repeated itsself. The enemy propaganda has pretty much defeated our political will to fight.
We should be ashamed of ourselves for letting this happen knowing good and well the consequences of DemoRat controls.

I agree with you.
*hit happened.
We only need one to keep a 50-50 split. If we lose the Senate too, there should be SERIOUS HELL TO PAY.
Well, of course, not according to the Allen campaign, but they are also saying that they feel the numbers in the vote totals were somewhat transposed by the networks, and that 100 percent of the vote has not been counted, that one area did not complete the count and closed up shop and were going to count the rest tomorrow. This is according to Fox News.
Worse than that we've let down our military...and that is just unforgivable.
I don't get it, here is what is on the Virginia website:
"Precincts Reporting: 2425 of 2443 (99.26%)
Registered Voters: 4,555,672 Total Voting: 2,323,715 Voter Turnout: 51.01 %
Candidates Party Vote Totals Percentage
J H Webb Jr Democratic 1,148,750 49.44%
G F Allen Republican 1,146,952 49.36%
They are now stopping the vote count? I understand there are some absentee votes still to be counted...
