You're right in the weight range I'm after. I read recently that clothing manufacturers are making clothes larger, and it makes sense. When I was thin, there was no size 0 or 2. I was a 3 in dresses and a 5 or 7 in pants.

So, is they're messing with us a good thing or bad? If we are, as a nation, getting fatter, why'd they add the 0 and the 2.

The size zero has clothing has to do with the 'smaller is better' mentality that permeates everything from fashion, to music, to movies. I've seen Laura Flynn Boyle pictures posted, complete with concave thighs and "I'd hit it!" as a caption.

A woman who was once 'hot' at a size 12 is now obese and disgusting along with the women who are 10, 8 & 6 respectively. There is little room for the majority who aren't in that range.

I actually had a bone thin dance student say "I'm not as small as I look! I'm a way bigger size....6". And she was serious.
