Ok, but I could say "Even during a coaching change period, Notre Dame beat Michigan three out of four years, and this year, Michigan needed a five turnover game to turn the table."
My point is this. Put Notre Dame's season up against Wisconsin's this year, schedule, performance, all of it. Because Wisconsin is going to be way up there in the BCS standings come Monday and no one is going to say a word about them. Then add in the bulls-eye on their back that Notre Dame plays with in every game. I would say that only USC over the past three seasons has played with a similar bulls-eye. Wisconsin's 'big wins' this year are over teams that are run-of-the-mill on Notre Dame's schedule.
"Any team in the top ten will give Notre Dame a good smackdown....."
How about Wisconsin?
"Gawd another bowl? Wont they ever end?"
They will end when the farce of the BCS dies the horrible death it deserves, and an all inclusive playoff system is put in place. A playoff system that includes the Champions of each conference, and deserving at-large teams. The playoff system MUST include the conference champs of the so-called mid-majors. The monopoly held by the BCS mafia needs to go. I love the fact that Boise St has muscled their way into the party. BYU had their shot if they wouldn't have blown 2 FG attempts. The BCS needs to die!!!!!!
Oh... I believe that Wisconsin can take them... Heck, Michigan State, one of the lowest ranked teams in the Big Ten, almost beat Notre Dame.
Example #45237 of why the poll system and the BCS system is a complete joke:
Texas is ranked ahead of Texas gAy&M in both the AP (17 vs 22) and Coach's (17 vs 24) polls, despite the fact that they have the same record and the Aggies just beat Texas at UT. Yes, gAy&M played a coward's non-conference schedule, but their only 3 losses have been by 1 point to top 10 Oklahoma, by 4 points to Texas Tech in the final seconds, and by 1 point to top 20 Nebraska in the final seconds.
The Aggies have good reason to be ticked that they aren't ranked higher, or at least higher than UT.
As an LSU fan, who should we be pulling for in the championship game? Arkansas b/c we beat them and that increases our strength of schedule? The announcers said last night that Notre Dame will get the at-large bid to the Rose, but to me that's ridiculous! They already lost badly to Michigan.
Also, just saw the AP poll. LSU is number 5. I know the BCS poll will differ, but I'm surprised we jumped that high.
I think the Notre Damers are desperately trying to fuel the Rose Bowl rumor to keep the Irish relevant. A rematch with Michigan is as far-fetched as the Rose inviting Duke to play the Wolverines.
