Now would that be the regular fuel line or the jet fuel line?
Lol.
Thanks for the info.
You are way out in left field on all of that. What Hollywood celebrities and circuit? Most of what he does are commitments for Budweiser and other sponsors which did include one music video which he did during the off-season last year. He has a dedicated PR guy named Jade who controls all the Budweiser requests for appearances.
Jr has more respect for his father's vision than anyone and that why he wants controlling interest in DEI. Furthermore, he has MORE respect for the veterans than any driver out there. And he has their respect as well. Did you see the ESPN interview with him, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson yesterday? They all think highly of him in his quest to guide DEI in the direction Dale Sr wanted it to be. You need to read more of his interviews. I've posted a few yesterday.
How do you know he and Mikey had an implosion in their friendship? Mikey does hold hard feelings for other reasons according to the Eury's because he gave DEI an ultimatum regarding Tony Jr and DEI didn't give it to him so it was a mutual agreement that he left. Had nothing to do with Dale Jr.
WOW, just watching this on speed.
Mixing alcohol with gasoline!
Oxygenate completely different from oil.
Unable to prepare the car to practice today.
The additive was in the fuel line/system/cell at some point in time. Not in the intake manifold itself.
Consideration of a more serious penalty? Talked about a lot of different things, not commenting on that.
Taking the car back for insp, will there be other penalties if they find anything. R&D they feel there probably isn't anything else in the car but if there is, they will do something about it.
Has Nascar seen this before........like Nitro Methane, or never seen. Not seen in the recent past.
Are you setting a precedent? This is a team issue not manufacturer. Crossed the line to get in 500.
Have there ever been more severe penalties? One is Talladega Cranifus [sp] team Mayfield 2000 151 points. Fuel related incident.
Any possibility this was accidental? Is there a second questions?? Laughter. Was it jet fuel.NO
How was it discovered? Normal process is take carb off plate off visual reach in for loose parts etc. Hand had a substance on it unlike anything seen before. Not like vaseline, like silicone or something.
Suspensions? Indefinite means very long! When the team wants to apply they will discuss.
Was it dangerous to handle? NO
Very bold attempt? Yes we're all surprised. Everyone knows not to mess around with these things, tires, engine plates etc.
MWR admitted guilt? or Appeal? Always open. It's hard to get an answer who called for this. Two people ejected so far. You don't find this on the street corner.
Toyota says something added to seal manifold to gasket. Sent to lab and it was not a match.
Couldn't resist having a commercial..............
I'll bet Toyota is none too proud of this!
100 points docked will guarantee he will not make races for quite awhile unless they figure out another way to cheat.
ESPN2 has Nascar Now on now.
I wonder if you can buy that substance at NAPA??? :)
(I'm sure it wasn't this!)
CFO from Toyota Racing Development was not a happy camper.
They should be extremely EMBARASSED since this is their introduction to CUP racing.
Yellow hat guy said it was not the manufacturer's fault. Said it was all on the Waltrip team. All the other Toyotas were OK, right?
Yes the others are ok so far!!
Here is what TOYota said earlier today, I'm sure they now KNOW HOW serious it is.
Lee White, the senior vice president for Toyota Racing Development that is making its Nextel Cup debut at Daytona, said he also planned to meet with Waltrip.
"I wouldn't call it a setback, but it's disappointing for anyone that we partner with to have this happen in some form or fashion," he said. "We will talk with them to see where we need to go for the future."
White said TRD has been working with NASCAR on the situation.
"I can honestly tell you from an ethics standpoint and integrity, along with character and honesty, those things are paramount in our company," he said.
"We hold ourselves to a high standard and we hold our teams to high standards. We hope we've picked the right ones."
LOL...way too much NasCrap going on...all this stupid secret rule stuff, Soap Operas in the Pits...As the Wheel Turns and All My Manifolds!
Let's just go racing.
What you said!
You would think they would learn after awhile.
But no.....always gotta be a wise guy in the crowd.
