The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...

Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Hi Hair, it’s been a while since I’ve been around and I just tried to get to the Yahoo location but “My Groups” have disappeared and I couldn’t find the yahoo hobbit hole. Is it still there and how can I get there?

It’s still there, but we don’t use it much any more. It’s pretty dormant.

Is there something in particular you’re looking for?

July 10th? Sure ... we should be back from the UP by then.

You wanna go to Hills Cafe? Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, with that fine white gravy on the side ...!

They can, if you get enough sun. They like sunny heat. They like lots of water, but do *not* like wet feet, so make sure they have good drainage.

I use Miracle Gro on my roses, but I'm a chemi-head. You can also use good organic stimulants on 'em.

Mmmm...

At muh waterin hole here in bvue they make a gravy on meatloaf night that smells so good I’ve considered getting it, even though I’m not even a big fan of meatloaf.

But... It would be less embarassing than ordering a bowl of their gravy and a spoon.

:-)

Order a bowl of mashed potatoes with "plenty of gravy on the side."

I use Miracle Gro on about everything but the dog. ;-) It works pretty well, if my loco pansies and petunias last year are any indication.

Well...after the poor hummingbird flying by last night, I felt guilty about not stopping for a feeder. Got it and a fairly short shepherd’s crook, so I st it up just outside the door. If it proves too tempting to the dog, I’ll get a taller one and use that one for flowers. I don’t think he’d mess with hanging flowers if they were actually hanging, instead of sitting on the ground waiting to be put on hangers. He thought the hooks make a dandy handle...

Sounds great!

On the 9th, we will be pulling in to the train station around 7pm in the evening. We'll be there all day on the 10th and the 11th. I'm staying with my elder brother, he'll want to take me to see his job. And my best friend, that I grew up with, she lives in that area too and we're planning on getting together. But I can work around anything. We also want to show the boys around where we used to live.

On the 12th, it is tentatively planned that someone is going to drive up from San Antonio in my younger brother's car and hand it over to us. For keeps. We're going to buy it from him. This is what it looks like. This isn't it...but it's just like it.

Then we'll all drive back to San Antonio where we will be staying in a hotel overlooking the Riverwalk until the 15th.

We will leave San Antonio and head to Galveston. We come start home from Galveston on the 18th.

My grandmother used to make a cream gravy so good that I would eat it only with bread...just sop bread in and gobble it down. It’s usually what I had for dessert!

I think this nail polish would go with my PT Cruiser, don't you think? It's called "Lincoln Park after Dark".

I'm thinking of it for a pedicure.

Heh heh heh!!

Yep. My little brother is selling me his.

I’m thrilled beyond belief. Remember when I said I wanted one? I believe it’s what ultimately led to me getting the Beetle...
