My liberal neighbor in CT used to say the 2nd Amendment applied to the armed services (because of the word militia).

Well, I am unregulated, got a whole bunch of guns, you name it, shot gun for up close, pistols for not so very close, rifles to stand off the world, knives for real close combat, clubs for getting attention, black jacks to pop unm up side the head. Most of my firearms are experienced, used in murders or assaults by the bag guys.
After the hurricane I made a sigh, me sitting in a chair, coverall one shot gun over my lap and the sign said 'one old man, one old shotgun', meant of course for the looters.

As far as their candidacy is concerned, I think it is still too early to tell. But something makes me feel that they're peaking way too soon. The Woman is losing her supporters and she may not recover. The leaders of the RATS don't appear to consider Obama viable. I'm looking for a dark horse to come from behind.

In the aftermath of our flooding, looting of unguarded homes has risen. I haven't heard stories of ex-pats being looted but the poorest of the poor. They turn their backs for two or three minutes, perhaps going outside to check on their gardens, or a neighbor. When they come back their stuff is gone. Phwhoosh! Gone.

It began raining again last night and has rained steadily through the night. This is not what we needed.
