Bodies are exhumed all of the time. Sometimes a cause of death is determined years later.
Oh, Im certainly aware of that, but IIRC chloral hydrate is on the test wish list. Would it still be detectable after embalming and eight months underground?
I thought it affected liver, kidneys, lungs, etc. If that is the case, it should be easily detected years later.
It should have been detected during the 1st autopsy, even.
