Yes, but I’m not so certain it’s ever been a matter of choice. Since the beginning, HKS had been able to ‘lord’ custody of DL over LB’s head, otherwise, I think he’d have told HKS where to shove it a long time ago, and I think that LB throughout this time, did everything he needed to do to make certain DL would eventually be his. I think in youthful ignorance and emotional desparation, he would have sold his soul if that’s what it took and I think that’s why Opri parted ways, I think she (as did Virgie) couldn’t convince LB to take a step backward and not to fall for whatever power he must have thought HKS weilded over him (and DL). I think this was their “difference in strategy”. I am just hopeful that whatever has been keeping him tied to HKS, will, now that he’s back in the states and out of Bahamian jurisdiction, allow LB to be empowered and do just that. I would be thrilled to see him side by side with Virgie again.
He has never held him responsible in any way for Daniel or Anna’s death, never condemned him for keeping his child from him during her first months of life, refused to submit her immediately for DNA after Anna’s death, publicly claimed to be the bio father when he knew he wasn’t, and publicly claimed to be married in a commitment ceremony.
LB apparently believes Anna wanted all of this, and that Stern just went along with her because he loved her. Lastly LB has publicly stated his sympathy for Stern’s unrequited love.
To me, this means LB has determined that Anna orchestrated this entire script, and that Anna planned and executed Horizon’s deal, all the grifting and conning, ect.
All while she was wasted 24/7.
He believes Stern only provided Anna and Daniels drugs because he “loved” them, and no more.
This kind of “modern” and “progressive” thinking is prevalent in today’s society, (just watch Oprah), lol. And we know LB was entirely comfortable with having a sexual relationship with an addict like Anna in the first place.
And grandma’s “judgmental” thinking and attitude is seen as mean, unreasonable, intolerant, cold, ect.
So I think he has more in common with Stern, and obviously feels more comfortable with him, instead of Virgie. Being that both their lives were/are revolve completely around celeb and Hollywood culture.
People who base *everything* in life on money are nearly impossible to reason with.
It’s hard to turn away from something that might promise your child a life free of want.
