Wouldn’t you know, as soon as I wrote I wasn’t leaving, parishioners starting walking in the front door. I think I’m safe for a while. Good to see you and everyone else. Sometime I’ve got to take an evening, try to locate all of you and spend some time catching up. Usually I hate it when anyone usurps a thread to use it as a “chat” place, but I just had to take this opportunity to say, Hi, y’all.

TANDY SUBWAY CLOSING: The Fort Worth trolley subway service will end with the final runs on Friday, August 30th at about 7 PM.
This line was built to connect a large parking lot with the Leonard Brothers Department store in downtown Fort Worth. The store previously operated a bus shuttle from the lot. The line operates on exclusive right of way thru the parking lot and then thru a double track tunnel to downtown.
They closed the subway? First the clock. Then the zoo. Now this. What’s next? Cowtown?

According to their website the Zoo is alive and well. The “clock” I assume is the old CNB clock. BTW...the Water Gardens have also reopened.
I went back last year. I had to pay to park and pay to get in and prices were horrible. The rides were gone too.
On Fridays I skipped school and took the subway to Leonards. I would get a piece of pizza and buy a book or walk to the library. Old Fort Worth used to be my playground:”)
Yeah, I depended on that clock, to know when school was out and it was safe to go home:’)

Other than another first round exit for the Stars, pretty much nothing.
Actually, there are ash trays outside of some of the doors on the upper level now (and benches).
Inside, you can smoke in two of the Admirals clubs, if you belong. I don’t know about the other clubs.
