Phil Hendrie returns to radio with a new show (on FM)

Posted on 06/25/2007 4:11:35 PM PDT by period end of story

Almost a year to the day he quit his previous show, Phil Hendrie returns to the airwaves with a new 3-hour show scheduled to air weeknights from 10pm-1am PST starting tonight. From what it sounds like, it looks like the format will be similar to that of Dennis Miller's show.

Los Angeles, CA -Talk Radio Network-FM announces the addition of The Phil Hendrie Show, premiering June 25, 2007. The new overnight show is scheduled to be live 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. PST weeknights. Mark Masters, CEO of TRN-FM, welcomes the new show stating, "With the new Phil Hendrie Show, live overnights will never be the same again, like the smash hit "South Park" Phil is a master of satire and always delivers a pay off, which brings perspective on important issues of the day. Phil Hendrie has a unique skill of using absurdity to backlight absurdity. He truly is a genius at his art form."

He ripped her pretty good one night about 3-4 years ago.

I wonder how he would handle her today?

Glad to hear it, and looking forward to him returning to the airwaves. Phil Hendrie is absolutely one of the best microphone men that has ever been broadcast via radio waves.

Back in the KFI days when no-one knew who he was, he almost made me crash my car while I was driving because he was killing me with laughing.

That show was when he did an entire hour in fake Spanish acting in three roles: A 'Noticiero'-style Mexican TV announcer, a old fat drunken borracho, and a little Mexican boy.

They were all talking to each other in nonsensical Spanish mixed in with just enough legitimate words to let the listener in on the gag. All voiced by Hendrie on his lonesome. Just amazing talent.

Lloyd Bonafide for President -- 2008.

When I lived in so cali, I listened to his show many times. And always wound up turning it off after a few minutes.

Just didn’t like him or his show. Oh well.

I remember when Lloyd was put “on hold” and astounded Phil when he squeezed and popped himself out of “on hold” and returned to the air. I hope Steve so and so the contractor at least won a few lawsuits in the past few months. and what about Ted Bell’s Steakhouse?

Never heard him, though I lived down in LA for years, but Howard Stern seems to like him (and vice-versa). I’ll try listening some time.

I wish I had a list of stations to post but I have yet to find one.

It seems that tonight’s show can be heard for free from the TRN site.

I had been living in SF for years and missed KFI the most. We just don't get it here, even as powerful as KFI is. That means I missed lots of the Hendrie show, Handel yourself in the morning, and John & Ken. KFI is the best thing in SoCal radio.

I only recall Bobbie Dooley, the whiny construction guy who cries and sues everyone, Lloyd Bonafide, and the snotty brat with cancer. The show with Bobbie Dooley drowning stray animals in her backyard hot tub was classic, what with the people calling in threatening her with death and all of the police activity that resulted from it.

Sure glad to hear the Hendrie is returning. I will catch him in Reno.

Phil is the man.

But where can I find him in my area? The TRN web site is gobbledygoock.

Phil Hendrie is to “serious” Radio as Larry the Cable Guy is to “lifestyle consultant”

Just plain Hilarious! (he swerves into lib land but funny is funny)

I must have missed him more than I thought, I was thinking that he has been retired for a couple of years.

Welcome back Phil, hope that he streams if he isn’t on a local station.

I can’t find a station list.

I hesitated in posting the thread without a station list, but I figured I’d give a heads-up just the same.

I’m not sure if he even has any affiliates lined up just yet, but TRN is providing this handy-dandy audio feed:

That appears to be nothing more than a Mancow affiliate list.
