“Style”, true - a lot of people do pay for that. Once Apple went with “Microsoft and Intel Inside”, that’s all that was left.

I prefer to “cook” my own, with three or more monitors (one or two of which could show satellite/cable TV feeds) per machine that I put together from cheap “ingredients”. But, as you said, for most people it’s not an option and if the style is what they desire, that’s what they will pay for if they get new Macs.

Well, my son is in San Diego and we’re in NYS with daughter’s laptop, which he sent to us after he finished setting it up. Our other problem is that we don’t have wireless at home, so daughter is either going to have to try this when she gets to college next week, or perhaps husband can take it to work with him. He’s actually a worse “non-geek” than I am, and I’m bad enough! Thanks:)
