Leave Marion Jones Alone
National News ^ | 01/11/2008 | Revski

Posted on 01/11/2008 10:11:10 AM PST by Revski

U.S. sprinter Marion Jones, a five-time Olympic medallist, failed a drug test at the U.S. national championships in Indianapolis in June, according to sources with knowledge of the test results. Now there is talk of a possible jail time. Have mercy, for all have sinned, she has confessed to her wrong and now let it go. Revski

I don’t honestly care about steroids in baseball.

How about we randomly do urine and breath tests on our politicians, just like I have to do as a bus driver?

It might be the only way to get rid of Ted Kennedy—what I think of as being a sober character and Samuel Adams thought was a sober character are probably two different things!

Are you serious?????

The people she really harmed are those with whom she competed. The second, third and fourth placers, who really would have won the medals legitimately AND would have garnered all the millions in endorsements she received!

Their lives were altered dramatically by her dishonesty. They worked hard for their sport and did not reap the rewards they deserved.

Six months is NOTHING for what she cheated them out of.

Bus drivers operate heavy machinery. Congressmen just cast a vote as they are instructed to do by their lobbyists.

Here in Houston I think there there are at least 3 different police unions with different agendas. It isn’t that rare to hear “the police officer’s union” endorsing competing Democrats in a race.

Seriously, I don't have a problem with her six-month sentence, but it is nice to point out the irony that perjury in a far more serious matter by another famous person merely resulted in a fine and him losing his law license for five years.

That's a knee slapper. He has his law license BACK now and I think the Burglar's security clearance is BACK too. Just in time for a return to the White House...

My first reaction was "enough already"

My second and more accurate reaction was that she lied to Federal agents, and she deserved what we give the Martha Stewarts and all the rest.

Perhaps it is the only logical way to get people to tell the truth......At least I would hope so.

Let’s make a deal - Marion Jones can avoid jail time if the MSM - particularly rightsholder NBC - serve her sentence for her for their star-******* approach and incessantly shoving American “heroes” (read: cheaters with hypodermics) down our throats.

That's assuming that the second, third and fourth placers were not using steroids themselves. The use of steroids in athletics is so common now and so rarely detected, that any athlete ambitious about becoming world class will almost have to drug up to compete with the other drug users. This will be the case until they come up with a foolproof method of detection and mandatory testing for everyone.

She’s not going to jail because she used steroids, she’s going to jail because she perjured herself.

Clinton is not going to jail becauase he cheated with Monica but because he lied about it to a grand jury.

One set of laws for democraps and another for regular people.

A person can go to jail for perjury?

What if that person is a defendant in a workplace sexual harassment lawsuit?

This is one of the reasons I cry in the video and I have removed the video because it did nothing. Mrs. Jones apparently is going to serve jail time.
