I'm Feeling GREAT Over the Primary Election Results!!!
Self | January 20, 2008 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 01/20/2008 6:03:26 AM PST by PJ-Comix

I'm getting something of a chuckle out of reading all the Chicken Little "WOE IS US" posts over the primary election results from yesterday. Why? Simple. Because the one viable conservative candidate with the best chance of winning in the General Election is in a better position than ever.

In case you haven't noticed, Mitt Romney now has more delegates than all the other candidates put together. McCain's win in South Carolina has hurt Mike Huckabee bigtime. However, McCain will be much easier to defeat in the primaries in the long run than the Huckster which is good news.

And to all you Fred Thompson supporters. Now is the time to face reality and support the remaining viable conservative candidate---Mitt Romney. Romney is now in the best positition to harvest a big delegate count on Super Tuesday because of his superior organization and finances. Ultimately, McCain will lose out to Mitt.

With Hillary as the Democrat nominee running against Mitt in the General Election, Mitt wins. Why? Because I GUARANTEE one or more third party candidates (think Bloomy and Ralph and even Dennis) running because of leftwing disgust with Hillary. And guess who that draws votes from.

But don't take my word for this. I am sure Rush will put things into proper perspective on his show tomorrow.

"Rush will set all your minds right tomorrow."

I enjoy listening to Rush, but I do not adjust my opinion by what he says. As far as Mitt, I would support him if he wins the primary. That being said, I have no intention of giving up on Thompson until the primary is officially decided, or he is mathematically eliminated.

Just as long as it is not McCain. I could vote for Mitt, but will never vote for McCain.

Does anybody out there know if McCain is taking public financing for his campaign? If so, then this will hurt him severely on Super Tuesday.

"Rush did not have to endorse him, but damn he did not have to leave him out to dry either."

Rush is not responsible for making a candidate viable. If they can not do so on their own, that is their problem. For me, Fred Thompson is the most Reagan like candidate, but I do not see it as Rush's job to carry his water.

Whatever republican runs gets my vote.

...And this is where conservatism loses and liberalism wins. I don't understand this mentality at this point in history? Have you people not been convienced by now that voting for a moderate/rino insures liberalism, bigger government, destruction of more personal liberty, enacting baseless moral values, and inclusion of political correctness run amuck?

NOW is the time to put an end to the moderate/rino power hold on the repub party! Right now, especially if it means giving the WH to Hillary for a decade, God forbid. Conservatives whimped out in the last 10 years, and this is this price the country has to pay!

In my state the motto is, LIVE FREE OR DIE! I'm all for living free and it won't be with a rino in the WH. We've had one of those for the past 8 years and looks what's happend to our party, look what's happened to our country!!

Mitt is a NorthEastern Republican and all they can do is eat cheese, drink wine, take photo-ops

...and build 50 billion dollar business, amass a quarter billion in personal wealth, save the 2002 Olympics from ruin, win a gubernatorial election, and raise a picture-perfect family. Stuff like that.

Oh...and Mitt doesn't drink wine. Or any other alcholic beverage for that matter.

“And to all you Fred Thompson supporters. Now is the time to face reality and support the remaining viable conservative candidate-—Mitt Romney.”

I have come to that conclusion but can we please STOP calling the man a conservative? He’s a moderate. At best.

Well the left is going to smear anyone that runs as a republican, conservative, moderate or liberal. Don't think they will go lightly on McCain becasue he's a war hero, that actually makes the rabid left even more insane.

Oh and by the way, I'm from the northeast, I love to drink wine and eat cheese but I also happen to be extremely conservative. Romney was not my first choice, I really like Fred and Duncan Hunter's views the best. However sice neither are going to win the only remaining choice is Mitt. Sure he may have changed is abortion position but at least he changed it in the right direction. He is by far the most accomplished and experienced candidate on either side and he is more conservative than any of the remaining players.

“Unfortunately even a lot of Freepers are smearing Mitt over the Mormon thing. Hopefully this will soon STOP.”

I would say “a few” not “a lot” and frankly as one who could care less what religion he adheres to I’d just as soon they stopped calling it Christianity. You want to be Mormon, then BE Mormon and call it that, not Christian.

Hey, don’t blame the messenger.

I think it must have SOMETHING to do with Romney himself. Frankly, I think he can’t get elected. I have doubts about the electability of EVERY Republican presently given a chance at the nomination.

Wasn’t that the goal of the MSM all along? To drive out anyone with a real chance of victory in November? Does anyone REALLY think thet these guys are anything more than the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party?

I love the 100% conservative on every issue or I'm sitting home mentality. I'm sure you are a person of grand principal and are earnest in your belief but if you think turnning the WH, Congress and Senate over to the rabid left (don't think for a second thats not who's running the democrat party now) for the next 10, 20, 30+ years is going to somehow purify the republican party and have them learn a lesson you're sadly mistaken.

Having the rabid left in charge for even the next 8 years will make this country unrecognizable if we even remain as a soveriegn nation (look closely at Hillary and Obama's mentor Saul Alinsky and you will see their goal is to do away with nations and become one world)and the damage will be irreversable.

If you think no one passes your purity test and staying home so Hillary gets elected will bring about the second coming of Ronald Reagan I've got news for you, it's more likely to bring the second coming of Karl Marx and this time he'll be here to stay!

After the primaries it was two choices.

Bush or Gore

Bush or Kerry

Are you saying our nation or conservatism would be better off with a Democrat administration in office over the CRUCIAL last eight years?

Rush has said....that if McCain or Huckabee won the nomination...it would be the end of the GOP as we know it.

Personally I believe the same thing if Romney wins it....And I think Rush will eventually come to the same conclusion.

You're forgetting, Myth Romney is not a conservative. Fred`s campaign maybe on thin ice, but Romney is not the answer.

Hmm. Just when we thought it could not get worse you have proven that isn’t true.

If Mitt wins it IS worse.

Thanks.

I’m not a Romney supporter. I’m Fred all the way. But I’m always suspicious when the MSM doesn’t like one of our candidates. While they don’t seem to despise Romney the way they do Fred, they still don’t seem to like him. There’s got to be a reason. The fact that they are pushing McCain & Huckabee tells me all I need to know about those 2.

Even if I didn’t like Fred, I would vote for him out of spite. I refuse to let the liberal media pick my candidate.

With Hunter out, my short list is down to Fred and Mitt. If they both stay in until the Ohio primary, I'll vote Fred. If only Mitt stays in, then he has my vote. I have no idea what I'll do if they are both out.

That ticks me off. Let all the candidates campaign and debate and have all the primaries on the same day. This is like being told you can't do your Christmas shopping until December 24th. Will they still have what you want?
