Are you packing yet for that wonderful vacatiion.

Good morning, jaycee.

Yes, I am starting to lay things out and making a list of what to bring. I am going to try to pack light. That is always my plan but, for a person who likes to be prepared for any eventuality, it is almost impossible. I have to remember that we won't be leaving civilization and many things we might need we can pick up anywhere along the way.

I am so looking forward to this adventure. I haven't been back to New England since I was a very young child. And it looks like we are going to get to meet up with a few of my favorite freeple along the way too. Icing on the cake!

Your vacation sounds wonderful and you’re going to get to see some FRiends is very special.

Speaking of packing, my husband always teased me. He would jokingly tell our friends that I had to take everything I owned on vacation. Said his things took up little space and it took the rest of the car for my stuff! He loved to tease me. I always told him I might spill something on an outfit the first day and never knew how many changes I would need.

Women are different for sure! I’ve been playing with my new camera this morning....I don’t know how to hook it to the computer yet, because I wanted to learn how to take pictures first. I was clicking everything and got the warning, my memory card was full. I didn’t know how many it held. I will learn quickly by spending more time with my book!

One of my little chipmunks was floating on the pool this morning when I looked out my bedroom window. First thing I faced was getting the net and getting him out, with tears in my eyes. Nature works this way I guess. Had a lot of those little cuties this year.

Thank you, Mz Billie.

Mornin' Amy.

Hope you both have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Taking this opportunity to post one of my only successful animations (I think this is from a "summertime" or a 4th of July post I did for the Finest a few years ago)....

I’ve been playing with my new camera this morning....

Oh, you got a new camera!? What kind did you get?

For me, the best way to learn is by trial and error. If I really get stuck, I will reluctantly get out the instruction book, but it just kills me to have to resort to that. Usually, more than half the book is covering things I already know or don't need to know. I am way too impatient and always want to just jump in and start using my new camera, cell phone, whatever. Good luck. Looking forward to some future picture pings from you!

Sorry about your little chipmunk. Yes, those things happen, but it is always so sad to see. Not a good thing to wake up to, for sure.

I know very little about digital cameras.

It is a Canon Power Shot A470. 7.1 mega pixels. 3.4X optical zoom. You will understand all that more than me but so far I have found it easy to use...including the zoom. I was scared to death to use it. My son helped me a bit the day he worked on the computer again recently! He tried to assure me I wouldn’t hurt it. I do use the strap around my wrist though.

I guess those memory cards come in different sizes don’t they? I mean the number of pictures you can take? I think I took 16, including what my son shot the other day. I had a pot of flowers in sight to shoot and it told me my memory card was full. And I said....Oh, shoot! I will learn.

Graphic by MamaBear

Prayer for the Unborn

Lord I pray this Sunday morn
for those souls that are not yet born
still a fetus in the womb
souls of love that you would groom

Keep them from man's every whim
whose abortion rates are dismal grim
destroying those that you create
playing God with children's fate

They name it "choice" to soothe their guilt
dissolving that which you have built
to live and love in You abide
is ended in infanticide

Of all the sins that man has wrought
this is the worst one of the lot
Lord, of this evil we repent
for killing of the innocent

Woe to those on judgment day
who stand before you when you say,
" I judge you not, but to these I give,
these souls that you denied to live,

will judge you now at heavens gate
and hold the power of your fate
so hope their mercy will abound
for in you was no mercy found"

You thought that horses wouldn't remind me of a boring story but............ surprise... surprise... surprise.

When I was about 12 or 13, I had to plow in the field with a mule. At the end of the day, when the time came to go to the barn and eat, the mule would pick up speed as I plowed the row going toward the barn. When I made him turn to plow another row, he would plod along until we, once again, turned back toward the barn then he would, once again, shift into high gear.

I plowed one year using a horse but I preferred the mule. A horse has to go too fast in order to pull the plow and it is easier for a kid to get a broken rib if the plow hits a root. A mule can pull the plow just walking along slow and easy. Except for the danger when hooking the trace chains to the single tree (mules will kick), mules are better for old men and kids.

You are going to love this camera! I have a Canon PowerShot A720, which is basically like yours. I went to Steve's Digicam Website and read the review on yours. Sounds like it is a good little camera. Canon makes good digital cameras for the amateur market. I love mine.

Yes, usually the memory card that comes with the camera is pretty small. If you shoot on the highest resolution (which isn't necessary, but I do), you can usually only get a few shots on a the card before it is full. My husband got two 2 GB cards for me. I would have a hard time ever filling those up. I also found that investing in rechargeable batteries and a charger really helps save money on batteries.

Have fun with your new camera, jaycee!

Sorry it didn’t work. These ants used to crawl...

That's because, at some point, the graphic was saved as a .jpg. In order for an image to be animated it needs to be in a .gif format. ;-)

Have a good day, jaycee. HUGS!

Thank you, Conor. Psalm 139 told me everything I needed to know about being pro-life. You are probably familiar with that Psalm...it is a favorite of mine.

That is a such a dramatic image and a powerful message in your poem, FH. Lord God, please protect the innocent unborn and turn men's hearts away from the horror of abortion.

I can't take credit for the graphic, Amy. You posted the original image you sent me. It didn't need anything at all done to it anyway. It is perfect as it is. :-)

Missed you last night, Lori.

I’m trying to catch up this morning.

I think I have another horse picture so I’ve saved a few quotes to use later. I’m finally getting smart. ;^ )
