Why hasn't McCain conceded? (VANITY)

Posted on 11/04/2008 7:20:25 PM PST by mike182d

With California, Oregon and Washington state, Obama crosses the 270 threshold - meaning there's no way he can win at this point.

Is there something they know that we don't?

I don't remember which station I was watching on election night 2004 but I distinctly remember the check being taken off Ohio after it had been called for Kerry. Blue turned white, then red and a couple hours later Kerry was giving his concession speech.

I'm asking a serious question because I don't know what to believe.

I see all these posts about not listening to the media, but what I'm not seeing is data from each of the states in question suggesting a different outcome.

This was one rigged election.

Yes it was rigged but if the GOP does not have someone who can use the English language well enough to explain this to the American people, Obama will never be impeached for rigging the election. In my opinion, that's what impeachment is for.

Because his campaign staff, Palin included, would probably hunt him down like a dog if he did. The presidential race has a huge effect on other races that are even more important now, and so whether or not Obama wins one state after he reaches 270 is very important, even more so if he hasn’t even reached 270 as of yet. Remember 1996? Dole did far worse than McCain and he hardly had a chance, but his VP pick (whose name now strangely eludes me) became persona non grata when he started campaigning for president in 2000 before the 1996 ballots were counted.

People are still voting, do you mind?

I would have disagreed with the author of this thread IF the McCain campaign had not announced "it will take a miracle now" more than 2 hours ago.

It’s time for America to take the advice that Sarah Palin gave to Joe Biden during the debate and look forward, not at the past.

If we asked the libs to support President Bush, then we owe it to our country to Obama as our President and Commander in Chief.

Jack Kemp was the VP nominee with Dole’s ticket in 1996.

Yes, it would be NUTS for any Presidential candidate to concede while the polls are still open - there are still down-ballot races on the west coast that could be affected.

I just hope that McCain, as a senator, goes against obama every chance he gets.

LOL! Don't hold your breath. Sadly, I think the opposite was one of McCain's primary issues during his campaign. McCain has been emphasizing his voting against his own party and voting with Obama's party.

That’s what got me this whole campaign.

But he was caught in a rock and a hard place.

If he votes with his party, he’s another Bush.

If he brags on voting against his party, why not vote for the black guy if they vote the same.

Screwed either way. Just like Amerikkka is now.

I cannot BELIEVE that a candidate who let a man that baptised his children and MARRIED he and his wife that screamed “GOD D&MN AMERICA”.

Ok, I can believe it, but I’m sad. Really really sad.
