The Whiners Who Cry Wolf! (Vanity)
Self | 11/07/08 | Self

Posted on 11/07/2008 12:55:51 PM PST by Seven Minute Maniac

For the last 8 years I have been disgusted with the way that liberals have treated George W. Bush. They have whined and complained day in and day out about every silly little thing, never doing anything to advance a substantive political philosophy other than "we are not Bush" "we hate Bush."

Sadly enough, there are many Freepers who are beginning to fall victim to this tragic disorder now that Obama has been elected president. It is tantamount to crying wolf, because reasonable people pay attention to these shallow arguments, realize that they are wasting their time, and then have no energy to listen to the arguments that truly count.

We can do better than this.

Please, lets focus on the real substantive issues and save our emotional energy for distinguishing our ideas from Obama's ideas, and demonstrating why ours work and his don't.

Bush did not have "evil" intentions, and neither does Obama. Hate is not a political philosophy. To pursue it as such will guarantee our demise.

You are wrong. What do you want to do, “Reach across the aisle”? That is what McCain did and look where it got him. The Dems don't play that game. You will soon see the err of your ways/ideas.

I beg to differ with you...We know so little about the ONE..but the people he has surrounded himself with certainly don’t show any love for the US....He will require CAREFUL watching....

::::::::::
While I would tend, in general, to agree with you about Bush, I TOTALLY DISAGREE with you about Obama. In my frame of reference, that of pro-Constitutional Americanism and patriotism, Obama FAILS all meaningful tests. He is, and will be judged, by WHAT HE DOES....not by what he says because he is an established liar by his own words.

Anti-Americanism represents HATE, and his disregard for the essence of the Constitution also represents HATE for the core being of America, a land of written laws bestowing rights and liberties he is so anxious to take away and compromise.

Again, sorry, but I totally disagree with your evaluation of Obama and his intent.

I agree. Also - if you believe, as I do, that the Constitution was Divinely inspired to some degree, Obama’s threat against the first and second amendments (and others I’m sure) also can be considered “evil”.

And at the least, un-American.

I was taught to shoot to kill.

The arguments that kill are the ones that completely take apart the opposing viewpoint.

You can take apart Obama, but his viewpoint will still remain.

All I am saying is make the arguments count and quit wasting energy on the arguments that detract from the ones that do count.

Unlike most Americans, people on FreeRepublic understand and reject the ideals that Obama and many in the Democrat Congress hold dear. Do we hope they act contrary to their ideals, or do we continue to warn the American public about the risk that they will actually act according to their ideals?

You are Incorrect!
What we need is to immediately start tearing down Obama.

Look here:
OBAMA BIN BIDEN, Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, Emmauel.
The left succeeded by running an 8 year campaign of hate and disinformation centered around convincing America that George Bush and Dick Cheney were Stupid and incompetent.
When Sarah Palin came on the scene they immediately took what they had learned from this an applied it to her as well.

We have absolutely no business reaching across the Aisle. None!

"Bush did not have "evil" intentions, and neither does Obama. Hate is not a political philosophy. To pursue it as such will guarantee our demise."

You are right about President Bush not having "evil" intentions. But you are wrong about obama's "evil" intentions because we have already seen his "evil" intentions.

We have heard obama's hate whitey preacher Rev. Wright, we know that obama took his children to that racist hate whitey church of hate. Children aren't born racist and only learn racist hate from their parents or those around them. Anyone who would take their children to a racist hate whitey church is just as "evil" as anyone who would take their children to a KKK meeting.

We also know how obama voted on the born alive act. If that's not "evil" intentions then I don't know what is. To vote for the death of a live baby is pure "EVIL" and nothing else.

You can slither up to obama and look past his "evil" intentions, that is your right. But do not expect others to snuggle up to "That One!" We think for ourselves. We have that right! It is not a disorder! It is our right!

Please, lets focus on the real substantive issues and save our emotional energy for distinguishing our ideas from Obama's ideas, and demonstrating why ours work and his don't.

I think this point is right on. We must continue to be clear and conversant on exactly why Barack Obama is a bad thing for our country and our future. We need to take every stand he takes and look at it from a conservative angle and how active smaller government, less spending, etc philosophies would be more impactful and have better and more fruitful results that represent the capitalistic, opportunity driven values of the United States. This does not mean though that we can not have a good laugh at the silly little mean people that he himself is and surrounds himself with.

Get honest Obama is a total partisan liar. Sounds as though you have fallen for his trance. This guy is not a kind, good hearted, faithful man as Bush is. Wake up. You can speak the truth without demeaning the man. Obama is no Bush. Obama will never be gutted and decimated by any conservative or any nation like George Bush was. Obama has been and is still given a big pass. Don't tell us conservatives how to deal with such a joke and power play.

Obama is a proven LIAR.

About 48% of the people do not accept Obama. We do not need to support him becuase he is our president. Go and read some early history about how the early settlers to this country got drunk on election day and fought with one another at the courthouses. Usually the candidate that supplied the most Liquor won the election. There has always been disent. I am for disent. Put the guy in there, give him a year with all of these Northeastern yankee Liberals around him like Emmanuel, Biden, Duval Patrick, JFk JR. - At this moment we don’t need that many more to move to the disent side to be a majority.

Bush did not have "evil" intentions, and neither does Obama

Huh?!! What the.....?

You don't consider infanticide or partial birth abortion evil? You don't consider emboldening the enemies who want to destroy us evil? Does a domestic security force have the potential for evil? Have you studied history? The media supporting the state without question isn't evil? Marxism isn't evil? Inciting your followers to "get in the face" of your opposition isn't evil? Voter suppression and vote fraud isn't evil? Nationalizing industry isn't evil? Making people dependent on government isn't evil? Teachers demeaning and intimidating students into supporting the Dear Leader isn't evil? Being a racist isn't evil? Being friends with and supporting murderers isn't evil?

Obama is a threat to our freedom and our way of life, and, unlike most threats we face, is an enemy from within. This is the most dangerous of all the threats we face. To believe Obama doesn't have evil intentions is to bury your head in the sand to ignore the facts. If you find yourself asking out loud Why can't we all just get along?" or are unable to resist holding hands and launching into a rousing rendition of Kumbaya, then you have been hypnotized by "Him" and need to seek help immediately.

“Oh, not another ‘what will the media say about us’ post? Urrggghhh!”

The fact is, people are mesmerized by Barack Obama. If they weren’t, he would not be where he is, because he is simply unqualified.

Obama is not the guy that you take down personally. There have been many many legitimate criticisms of Obama as a candidate, even as an American! None have stuck, and not for a lack of effort on our part.

Of course you have the right to disagree with me, but I have resigned myself to the belief that going after Obama personally (at least for now) is futile.

Our country is at a very dangerous point. We NEED to make a strong case now more than ever before, and I think that there are more efficient ways of accomplishing this.

I dunno bud, I'm not in MN.

Surely there are a couple smart conservative lawyers up there that could do some pro bono to throw a wrench in somewhere.

Didn't intend to paint with a statewide brush btw.

There's been some of that directed toward PA the past few days, tho I'm not sure what else the average GOP volunteer could have done.

The primary culprit is the current level of economic & Constitutional stupidity of the American electorate.

And a close second is the outright fraud and theft of the election, and w/o serious backup the little guy's not very effective.

I have some personal ideas how to deal with the thugs in Philly and the Burgh, but at the moment 1850 rules are frowned on.

Was mainly annoyed with the self righteous tone of the thread poster.

That wasn’t the point of my post, and I am sorry that my statement has detracted so much from that main point.

I do believe that these things are evil. I don’t believe that Obama INTENDS to do evil, despite the fact that he does. I think that he and his supporters believe that they are doing the right thing, and I think that people need hear why it is the wrong thing.

What liberals think about embracing Obama is to roll over and take it. I will not stand silent to evil policies that will endanger innocent babies, our soldiers, our freedoms or any other misguided compassion he may have.

Just because he won, doesn’t mean he will destroy our country. We know who he is, we know what he stands for, we know who his companions are and we are now on the defensive until 2012.

I will not turn my back on what is right, just because this historic black man has won the presidency. It wouldn’t matter if he was pink with yellow pocka dots, his policies are evil. I stand ready to yell the loudest when he chooses to impliment them.

Evil triumps when good people do nothing, and I will not stand silent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Wow. You just keep digging deeper. Conservatives are not attacking him personally. That would be akin to calling him Chimpy, warmonger, a murderer, a drunk, an idiot, a draft dodger etc. You know, the kind of crap you see at Kos, DU and HuffPost all the time. No, when I call Obama a liar, a Marxist or evil, I am fully prepared to back my statements up with facts rather than emotions. That's just another thing that separates us from them.

Marxists like Obama can't tell you what they really believe in or what they want to do. They'd never get enough votes to win much of anything. Our side loses to them too often because we do exactly what you're suggesting in your vanity. Only when we expose them for what they truly are, and offer effective alternatives, will we begin to win again. McCain will never learn that lesson because he's too busy trying to forge alliances and reach out to the people that hate him. Until you finally realize that your opponents hate you, you will not defeat them. You can't reason with these crazy leftists; you can only defeat them. Playing beanbag with them for fear we might offend someone is a sure path to defeat.

Of course they believe they're doing the right thing. Good grief man, do you think Hitler believed he was doing the right thing with his final solution? Of course he did. Murderous despots and dictators throughout history have justified their actions even though their actions led to the deaths of hundreds of millions. Of course Obama and his supporters believe they are doing the right thing just as Stalin, Mao, Hitler, and their true believers, believed in what they were doing.

You can't cower and play nice when dealing with totalitarians. And, make no mistake about it, Obama is a died in the wool totalitarian. From reading your comments here I gather that you should have read your vanity before posting it because, at this point, I have no idea why you wrote it.

Respect is a two way street. To get it you have to give it. Obama is the most disrespectful (among other things) politician to come down the pike in a long time.

He even disrespects, and treats with contempt, the very people who elected him. It has always been so with the elitists. Useful idiots are alive and well in the world. Obama, and everyone else concerned, shouldn't be surprised (or bothered) when Obama doesn't receive respect from others. Simply, he just doesn't deserve it.

The reason people are mesmerized by him and we are not able to attack him personally is because he has no personality, is a good speaker saying nothing, and people can’t figure it out. He is a mirage, a puppet, but they don’t know it yet. There is a ventriloquist behind the scenes, but until we find out who it is, people will continue to listen to the music of the pied-piper.
