Mike Huckabee praises Apple; dumps Windows PCs after 22-years, switches to Apple Mac
Mac Daily News ^ | 01/12/2009 | Mike Huckaby

Former Republican governor of Arkansas (1996 to 2007), runner up to John McCain in the 2008 United States Republican presidential primaries, front man for the rock band "Capitol Offense," and current star of the TV program "Huckabee" on Fox News Channel, Mike Huckabee recently talked about the poor customer service with his airline and phone company and praised Apple for great customer service on his TV program.

Huckabee switched from 22-years of suffering with Windows PC dreck - with "serious fear and trepidation" - to an Apple MacBook.

Huckabee commends the staff at an Apple Store in New York City:

MacDailyNews Take: Microsoft's business model: Instill serious fear and trepidation. Make PCs so difficult and frustrating that it makes the very idea of switching unthinkable. Make them sheep, build a pen, and pretend to lock it tight.

Windows-only users who've stumbled here via Google News or via other avenues: Don't waste 22-years fighting with your PC. You know you want a Mac. It's time. That lock is an illusion. Set yourself free. Get a Mac.

Can’t beat the price of a cheap Windows-based computer, though.

There’s a guy that sells refurbished Macs online. If I do get a Mac, it’ll be through there. At that, it would largely be used for Garage Band.

Windows is only cheap if your time and data are worth nothing.

You can get refurb Mac’s right from the Apple store as well at very good prices and they include a warranty.

"Former Republican governor of Arkansas (1996 to 2007), runner up to John McCain in the 2008 United States Republican presidential primaries..."

Actually Huckabee WASN'T 'runner up' in KS, not even in more moderate to liberal KS 3rd District (includes parts of Wyandotte and Douglas - read Univ. Kansas and Johnson County, KS.)

Why is this news?

Is there any truth to the rumor he used Charmin instead of Angel Soft?

Can’t beat the price of a cheap Chinese car either....

Until you roll in the support costs, the constant repairs, the regular disasters, the unreliability, the wasted time, and everything else....

I don’t store any personal information on a hard drive. The largest bit of information would be the couple of gigs worth of CDs I own.

“You know you want a Mac.”

Certainly, and a lung transplant too.

It matters not.

For your consideration.

Now, before you go, "So what?" consider this...

There are documented cases of completely innocent people being hauled into court because they were accused of doing something illegal while on the Internet.

Simply being on the Internet and holding an IP address issued to you by your ISP is enough to become a target.

Inevitably the bot networks will team up with the kiddie porn industry to store kidde porn on remote Windows computers zombied by the bots.

The only real solution is to stop using operating systems that even Microsoft says are botted to the tune of 60% of all desktop Windows machines on the Internet.

Additionally, bot software running on infected Windows desktops is responsible for 85% of all the spam on the Internet.

If you're using Windows and you're connected to the Internet you're likely part of the problem.

I’m so fed up with Vista that I take every chance I can to tell everyone who will listen that my next home computer will absolutely, certainly, without any doubt, be a Mac.

Pretty cool.

Especially considering that Windows 3.0 didn't come out until 1990 or '91. Is he suggesting that he was a Windows 286 user?
