President's first interview since taking office Obama tells Al Arabiya peace talks should resume
In his first interview since taking office, President Barack Obama told Arab satellite station Al Arabiya that Americans are not the enemy of the Muslim world and said Israel and the Palestinians should resume peace negotiations.
My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy, Obama told Al Arabiyas Hisham Melhem in an interview broadcast Tuesday morning.

I vote uber-creepy.
Please explain how is could possibly be “uber-savvy”.
He is selling us, the infidels, out.
I think you mean uber alles, don’t you. Has a familiar ring to it....hmmmmmmmm.....
Actually, it’s both.
He knows very well what Islam is about (world domination). He’s a muslim though and so to me (and many others) it’s very, very clear where his loyalty lies. And it’s not with us. The 62 million or so idiots who voted for him are useful idiots and will have contributed to our demise which will be forthcoming if we don’t vote his a$$ out first opportunity we get.
Oh no, he forgot to bring his teleprompter!
The Iranian ship boarded by a US Navy Coast Guard team on the Red Sea last week before it could smuggle arms to Hamas is now disclosed to have tried to trick the search team by enclosing its rocket cargo in secret compartments behind layers of steel. Furthermore, our sources reveal, the US has not yet found a harbor in the region for carrying out a thorough search.
The Cypriot-flagged Iranian freighter Nochegorsk was intercepted last week by the new US Combined Task Force 151 in the Bab al-Mandeb Straits. Its presence in the Red Sea was first revealed by DEBKAfile on Jan. 20. For this article click HERE.
The Americans decided not to give the Israeli Navy a chance to seize the vessel and tow it to Eilat for fear of a Tehran ultimatum to Jerusalem, followed by Iranian attacks on Israeli naval craft patrolling the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea.
Iran maintains two warships in those waters to guard its shipping against Somali pirates as well as a military presence in the Eritrean port of Assab. The arms smuggling ship was first reported escorted out of the Suez Canal Saturday night, Jan. 23, after which Washington imposed a blackout on the incident. It is now moored at an Egyptian Red Sea port at the entrance to the Gulf of Suez.
But the US and Egyptian governments are in a fix. To break the Iranian ship’s holds open and expose the rockets destined for Hamas, the facilities of a sizeable port are needed. It would have to be Egyptian because the other coastal nations - Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia - are hostile or controlled by pirates. Both the US and Egypt are hesitant about precipitating a full-blown armed confrontation with Iran.
****The timing is wrong for the new Barack Obama administration, which is set on smoothing relations with Tehran through diplomatic engagement***
I think this is colossal. Ive spoken with several people that voted for this douchbag and they cant believe it. How long before the rest of the country realizes they got duped?
“My job to the muslim world”?.......
...he works for the muslim world?
..I thought he worked for the U.S. taxpayer.....
Obama loves the smell of capitulation in the morning!
Is anyone really surprised? We know he’s a Muslim Marxist. Why shouldn’t his first interview be with an Arab propaganda organ? This idiot has only been in office for a week! But the left wing MSM will continue to cover up for him no matter what he does. Must protect the Leader at all costs!
I vote uber creepy on this one. However, I don’t think it was anything other than completely contrived by the Anointed One’s handlers, his puppetmasters.
There is more that we do not know about this guy than we might wish to believe, IMO.
We knew it all along.
I wonder how many media-hypnotized morons who voted for him are just now beginning to discover that?
THE PRESIDENT: You know, I said during the campaign that it is very important for us to make sure that we are using all the tools of U.S. power, including diplomacy, in our relationship with Iran.
Now, the Iranian people are a great people, and Persian civilization is a great civilization. Iran has acted in ways that's not conducive to peace and prosperity in the region: their threats against Israel; their pursuit of a nuclear weapon which could potentially set off an arms race in the region that would make everybody less safe; their support of terrorist organizations in the past -- none of these things have been helpful.
But I do think that it is important for us to be willing to talk to Iran, to express very clearly where our differences are, but where there are potential avenues for progress. And we will over the next several months be laying out our general framework and approach. And as I said during my inauguration speech, if countries like Iran are willing to unclench their fist, they will find an extended hand from us.
Q: So, Mr. President, we can assume that your answer is yes, you are willing to live with a nuclear Iran?
Transcript of B. Hussein Obama Interview with Al Arabiya (Al Arabiya | Monday, January 26, 2009 | Hisham Melhem)
Noticed he played the muslim card? “muslim relatives, muslim ancestors”?
No wonder Qaddaffi has said Obama is a muslim.
Al-Arabiya contributed to Oslama’s campaign, so in essence, they paid to play. oslama is paying them back now.
Bingo. Follow the money trail on this one. Obama has sold the American people and this country out and we are going to pay a big price a lot quicker than I ever thought.
Indonesia may be the largest Islamic nation but it is not in the Middle East. So much for the myth of "staying out of muslim lands" as a way of appeasing them.
One of the Four Freedoms promoted during WWII by Norman Rockwell, and other artists, for the US war effort is Freedom of Worship.
The Islamists don't see the world that way.
If there is to be mutual respect among nations, they must not throw a hissy fit when our citizens engage in free speech or seek to promote the expansion of non-muslim faiths in nations led by muslim politicians.
