Is it time to dump Free Republic?
FR | January 28, 2009 | Me

Posted on 01/28/2009 10:46:53 AM PST by PlainOleAmerican

Repeatedly, FR moderators have moved TOP postings related to current NEWS and calls for conservative ACTIVISM from the News and Activism section, over to "blogger's and personal" which has no traffic by comparison.

I fully understand Jim Robinson's original purpose in launching FR, to provide a community in which conservatives could get TRUTH not available in the MSM, information not available in the MSM and access to fellow conservatives so that we could work together towards a conservative agenda.

Yet time after time, FR moderators bury this information over in "blogger's and personal" and kill story after story, vital to the conservative movement.

Why?

Without a change in this policy, I am through posting to FR. The moderators on FR have less sense than the moderators on DU, where they at least work to bury the opposition, instead of themselves.

What gives? Anyone understand this self-defeating policy?

You've been instructed as to the link many of the rest of us use:

http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/*/index

Your posting of "Congressional Democrats Bankrupted the Nation" remains on that page.

I don't know how many times I've read a variation of this complaint over the decade or more that I've been here.

Heck, when we first started, most of us LIVED on the Recent Posts page. Then, that got to be too cumbersome.

Did you ever stop to think that your article post may have been boring? ;-)

Good bye!

FWIW, you should have just gone away, but it’s nice that you exposed yourself first.

Now go away!!

I am not wanting to start anything else here, but why is almost every new thread you post (at least recently) are all a “Canada Free Press” editorial by JB Williams?

or JB Williams from another source?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2163073/posts
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2158672/posts

Should you disclose if you are related to JB Williams or just a fan? Scanning through these, it seems the mods have done a decent job organizing the editorial type entries to the blog category and keeping the news ones as news..

Thank you! Note that I did not mark it “breaking” news...

I have posted here for a long time. I think that has ended now, but thanks for the very decent post. Too bad that you are outnumbered by rude idiots here too now.

Actually, most of us on this thread are a FReeper that goes by the name of UncleDaddy.

Shhhhhhhh! He'll figure it out, and what happened to the strawberries, too!

Becoming more like a sandbox for fools...

You have a better solution for activism, disseminating news, researching possible actions against DemoncRATs?
Why haven't I heard about it?

If you want personal and bloggers to be put in news/activism then get the blog reported on by a documented news agency or have some type of activism, physical actions, related in the blogs.

Just because someone has a blog and decides to air their views doesn't mean it's news, activism, or worthwhile to read.

There are some blogs that are worth reading but not the vast majority.

If you want the moderators to read each article and decide whether it's news or activism you better pony up to hire a BUNCH more moderators.

BTW. Have you bumped the FReepathon and contributed today?

Yet, if the piece I posted had been printed in the MSM, moderators would have left it in News where it would be read by many more...

That’s my point.

The folks on this thread have a very different point. Censorship of conservative news is good on FR... just not in the MSM, which they consider to be “real news,” not like those nasty conservative news outlets on the web.

So go away already!

Oh, I get it. You want to debate, not leave.

Guess you should have thought out your opus better.

Talk to you later! ;^)

Yes, hot and cold constantly running "Recent Posts" ~ I was here 3 years or so before I figured out there was a different way to handle things.

There are still people who do that.
