Until someone is convicted in a court of law then a crime is alledged to have happened.
So unless the perp is convicted and sentensed, the assault never happened, just like the alleged murder of O.J. Simpson's former wife never happened?! Gotcha!
It’s not an assault until a jury says it was an assault. That’s just very basic libel law.
Reality and truth of events are not determined by juries. Either something happened or not. We are not all lawyers and legal experts. That is one of many things that are wrong with the MSM. See the common example cited in #14.
Here is the problem. If I print that you allegedly assaulted your neighbor and a jury decides you didn’t, I’m on safe ground. If I print that you assaulted your neighbor, and a jury says you didn’t, you then have a solid libel case against me. You are after all, at that point demonstrably innocent of assault.
