You know, it sure is wonderful to meet conservatives that love cats! What a wonderful combination.<<<

That is true.

But then cat lovers have always been the chosen people, for cats will not live with you, if they decide to move on.

I have had them come in, and visit every house on the block, then finally settle on one to call home.

Do you still have a lot of cats? <<<

After I got the wild cat out of the house, I have not had another house cat, except babies that I nursed and found homes for.

But I feed about 150 pounds of cat food each month to the wild cats, all kinds and colors, they come to dinner.

I don’t have any other pets now, I did once, when I could take care of them.

You are carrying on with cats nicely. We feed strays, too, when they're around, which they haven't been lately.

I've never had more than 4 indoor cats, now have 4, and since I never let them out I don't think I could handle more than 4.

I know Freepers and folks who can handle more, though.

You would handle them, of course things look a little strange and one cat box does not handle all of them.

I got up to 13 one year and that was too many.

The wild ones kept leaving me babies at the door, for me to feed and I did, time went by and and they were no longer babies.

One day I really looked and was surprised at all the odd cat toys that I had invented, LOL, one of over 10 years old, is still played with, if I have a cat in the house.

Remember the key ring holders, on a long coiled thingy like an old phone cord, as we once used that connected the receiver to the base of the phone, it stretches out and then goes back to shape?

I rolled a pair of panty hose into a ball, used a small safety pin to keep it in shape and attached the ball to the thingy, and that to a file drawer handle.

They pull it out, then try to figure out why it went back on them and there is no one at the other end.

But the one that I took down first, was the soft bathrobe tie, that I tied to the roof vent, that was in the ceiling almost at the middle of my bed.........for I would be sound asleep and the cats would decide it was play time in the middle of the night.....it worked as a toy, but not in the bedroom.

The one that I miss the most, was a big yellow tom, I had raised him and about 4 other babies and they were average, but Tom was gentle, shy and well mannered.

He would sit on the stool and eat the stems of the raw greens, that I liked dipped in ranch dressing...and not get on the table.

While picking the greens one day, I wondered why he did not pick his own, but even in the garden, I had to pick and offer him the leaf, before he would eat it.

At night, the others all wanted to play at bedtime, but when the others laid down to sleep and I was almost asleep, he would lie beside me, curved to fit my body and put his paw in my hand and that is how we slept.

I knew that I had been waking up, feeling ‘loved’, that extra warmth, and one night I was not quite asleep, when he took his spot and then I knew why I didn’t feel alone in the night.

I like your kitties, the Orange on the wood floor, I would not be able to see and one of us would have a broken bone.

If you want to see a riot, my parrot, thought all the boxes belonged to him and if a cat got into one, would keep on asking it “WHAT ARE YOU DOING??”.

Dink would also attack the intruder, if he got the chance.

Cats are so funny and one can almost see them think “ I am bored, so I am going to have some fun and upset someone.”

Your cat stories are so precious. I love reading them.

Thank you.

Odd, I guess I always talked to animals, and remember being a little surprised when I found out others did not talk to theirs.

We all know that a Cat is easy to talk to, for they say “do this” and expect it to be done.

It is only when I am giving the orders that the ‘understanding’ is weak.
