Every. Single. Year. 30,000 Americans are killed by this exact same Flu. Type A.

Yes it is a flu mutation of a few different ones.
4 here in San Diego had it and recovered.
The Public Health Dept. have kept up with info here.
We just don’t get worked up about it, living in a large city and Tijuana, Mexico just south of us.
The San Diego - Tijuana border crossing is the largest and busiest in the world.
Just last year around 600+ people were killed in Tijuana by the drug cartels and dozens with heads decapitated
Just last week several bodies found with one decapitated.
Army patroling in the streets, etc.
This trumps the flu.
Sometimes simple honesty is the best policy.

I have also understood, it is type-A influenze (this type) which is by far the most prevalent.
Those are the two presumptions upon which, the original post was based. If they’re wrong, I’ll welcome readers to show otherwise. Not a problem.

WOW. There is no way to know how bad it wiill get. It was just announced this week by Mexico, and has been there since at least March. Media has underplayed this. I’ve barely seen anything on it. Most of Fox was on torture memos. Meanwhile CDC is still not telling people to avoid Mexico.
It’s not the same flu.
Yes and there is a certainly going to be that suspicion but the CDC however is not the type that just goes overboard in fact they try to tamper things and tend to only warn when it is necessary. The WH and the press corp is another deal altogether however that doesn’t make this any less of a potentially serious situation. Question the potential severity, that is fine, but don’t say stuff like it is the same flu that effects us all the time because even under Obama I don’t think that would be news.

The Obama comment had nothing to do with you. The Obama comment directly addressed the major point of this vanity thread: "This is all a ruse to cover up Obama's plummeting approval numbers."
Besides that you are sounding completely uneducated here. I have studied virology and microbiology. Because two old people die from the flu doesn’t mean that its the same for every flu.

What concerns everybody is the fact that the young and healthy died, like what happened during the 1918 Spanish Flu and the 1976 outbreak.

Being treated for this flu is not the same thing as going bankrupt due to expensive cancer treatment.
Is it the end of the world? No. Is it enough of a pandemic possibility (think 1918) to take some precautions, you damn well better believe it.
