Love Mel's movies (Gallipoli, Year of Living Dangerously, Braveheart, The Patriot, Apocalyto, Passion of the Christ, etc.) & his apparent championing of freedom. I once saw him at the Europen opening of "The Patriot" at the Normandie Theater on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. I'm sorry to see his real life continues in a bit of tatters.

Man oh man...what happened Mel?
I suppose the marriage was dead years ago but still...28 years and 7 kids. And now adultery.
Kinda rattles your faith a bit.

I ask that same question all the time...??? The divorce papers aren’t signed yet, are they?

I love the guy, but quite frankly, it looks like he traded down.

Having said that, I still think that all of this is really none of our business.

If she is pregnant, she hit pay dirt. With or without marriage, she and that baby are set for life. Major strategic trap on her part. She knew what she was doing.

"As for Oksana, she kind of looks like a hybrid of OctoMommy."

Hybrid? If you mean it looks like you could put a lot of mileage on her for just a few bucks, I agree ;-)

I don’t think soo. It has been said this could be the most expensive divorce EVER. Mel’s worth something like a billion dollars.

Such a relief to know I’m not the only FReeper who reads “D-Listed!”

I saw the Empress of Lucite in person last summer. She lives three blocks from me. The angels sang!! ;^)

Hey Oksana, your new boyfriend is a multi-millionaire.

So why the long face ?

Not possible, but if I had had the financial success any of the major male “stars”, in Hollywood or Wall Street, I would have gotten a vasectomy early in life.

Love Mel Gibson...those Lethal Weapon movies are great. Passion, Braveheart....Mel is a true genius. Screw the media.

I completely agree.

During his promotion of The Passion of the Christ, he promoted himself as a devout, observing Roman Catholic in several interviews on EWTN. That made me like him more. However, Mel's recent behavior has definitely tarnished his image and damaged whatever status he may have had as a role model.

Guess the sequel to The Passion of the Christ is a no go. ;-)

I’m glad that in a time where government growth is out of control, our taxes are being raised and wasted all at the same time, our president is bending over backwards and forwards accomodating other countries’ interests, and our borders are overrun by illegals bringing diseases, drugs, and crime with them, THIS story is grabbing the headlines...

Who the heck cares? His marriage has been a sham for years. NOBODY knows what goes on behind closed doors. His kids are grown....his wife will be more than well off. SO FREAKING WHAT? It happens everyday.

If the bimbo is pregnant, shame on Mel. Is she worth your soul, Mel?? His wife is handling herself as a class act.

It is a mortal sin, which he is still perpetuating, so no forgiveness can be involved at this point. Also, he has 7 children to consider. His religion is “important” enough for him to build his own church. But, his actions are abhorrent.

“Kinda rattles your faith a bit.”

It doesn’t rattle mine. He is human, humans make mistakes.

I don’t care what becomes public, we will never know what truly went on in the lives of these folks.

I am a romantic, some say to a fault. When love is dead and when love can no longer be brought back to life, does one hangout at the graveyard or move on with life? For me, it depends on the life situations of the folks involved and I doubt that any of us can wisely rise to proclaim that we can possibly know what is in the hearts of another.

So my FRiend, I see nothing to be rattled about here.

I have enjoyed a wonderful life with a beautiful and loving Bride for 38 fun filled and productive years. She has been the mother of our two children and allowed me to be their father. She is the proud grandmother of our 7 grandchildren.

I may be part of why she has been safe, secure and happy for all of these years. WE have worked to give each other great and, at times, wondrous memories and we continue to do that to this very day. She has been at the side of my deathbed and given me the strength to live.

She is why my heart takes it’s next beat, she is why I bother to take my next breath, she makes me whole and I miss her if all she does is leave the room. When I look into her eyes, I still see the youth and soul of that 20 year old that wasn’t interested in me so many long years ago..... though it sometimes seems to have only been a few days that have past.

However, as painful as it would certainly be for either of us, if our love was dead, I would understand our parting. Hanging around a graveyard would not be good for either of us.... if life can’t continue, the you are already dead, IMHO.

I wish those involved in this mess good luck, they will need it. Reality can be easy and complicated, both hot and cold, happy and sad, good and bad...... and crushing when you realize that the love you once shared is now dead.

Have a great day.....
