The head official at the Sears Tower's Skydeck says the Chicago tourist site is preparing to allow visitors a rare view from a new enclosure called the "Ledge."
Skydeck General Manager Randy Stancik said the Ledge, tentatively scheduled to open to the public in June, is a glassed-in enclosure that extends 4.3 feet out from the tower's observation deck, the Chicago Sun-Times said Friday.

I invision a terrible accident in which Barney Fife is out there with a bunch of people showing them his sidearm. Then he places it back in his holster.....
That is totally crazy!!!!
Was out in Vegas last year and went out to west rim of the Canyon....I sheepishly admit to crawling out there. I tried to walk but the knees took 5 minutes to work. Walked back in looking up.
Was fun though..had lunch at the bottom of the canyon via helicopter. On the way out I cracked up at the “candy factory” in a mobile home.
Me neither. Just looking at it gives me the willies. Yipes...no way. No how!
Wouldn’t do that either. None of those nonsensical things.
It’s OK - the designer said it’s like stepping onto a huge sheet of Crème Brûlée. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Ah, no thanks, I’ll take someone else’s word for it how cool that is...
Bunch of Wuss’s, Chuck Norris would go up there with a bottle of windex and some paper towels and clean the glass
.....from the outside.......on acid.
See the lady, with the green blouse, CLINGING FOR DEAR LIFE to the side of the actual building? That would be me; after being heavily medicated and offered monetary reward for creeping out there.
I need to go lay down now. :p
Let him, I prefer heights when I can look up at them, rather than looking down from them.
I will second the Field Marshall’s view about the location of my testicles upon stepping out on that thing...
The Building? The Ledge? Which one???
What? I’m the only person who thinks this is cool? I’m super squeamish. What gives?
