A COMPULSIVE gambler was banned from Crown Casino after he blew more than $2 million in 43 minutes, a Melbourne court has been told.

Harry Kakavas allegedly told casino chief operating officer John Williams in August 2006 that he was feeling "deflated" having lost $30 million over four months.

Mr Williams urged Mr Kakavas to take a break from gambling at the casino, the Victorian Supreme Court was told on Tuesday.

But Kakavas, a high flying Gold Coast property developer, replied he was "fine" and proceeded to play games of baccarat, losing more than $2 million in 43 minutes, the court was told.

“This guy can come over and play cards with me anytime.”

I’d hate to be betting against this guy if he gets hot.

Blew $2mil in 43 minutes? With this kind of potential, all he needs to do is cheat on his taxes and he’ll have a job offer with the Obama administration.

It sounds like he is really bad at cards. He should stick to the slots.

Archie Karas

An obituary by Dan Dunkin captured Tose’s life: “To put Leonard Tose’s life in football terms, he threw on every down.”

” having lost $30 million over four months.”

Chump change. He doesn’t hold a candle to Obama.

Can the casino avoid any liability when they asked the man to step away from the gambling table, like bars that tell you “no more beer”?

“...during a period of 16 months Kakavas turned over $1.5 billion in bets at the casino....”

So, he only loses $30 million after turning over $1.5 billion?

mini-baccarat is my game. I can usually average $20-$30 an hour winnings. Doesn’t sound like much but if I go into a casino and stay 5 hours and leave with $150, I’m doing better than 98% of the rest. And I get compted food and stuff also.
