no, these aren't albinos... they are a genetic white deer herd that has been on the old Romulus Army weapons depot for over 50years and even though the depot closed some years back, the herd still lives there.

some brown deer get in and some white deer get out so you can get some very strange looking deer, kinda like cow's except instead of black and white they are brown and white...

i've seen them but only seen a couple pictures and none i have access to

1. It'd be nice if they gave a better description of the neighborhood: "North Long Beach" is pretty much Los Angeles.
2. True, the river does cut through LB, much of the river is full of trees. Much of it is lined with open spaces that could support wildlife...then there are the roadside drains that run from the mountains to the Pacific.
3. Coyotes, possums, raccoons, skunks; all prosper around humans. Of course, so do rodents and small domesticated animals (food).
4/a. I'm a little surprised to see nearly as much venom on this cat thread as on a typical pit bull bashing frenzy(!)
4/b. Then again, I once had a neighbor complain at me once because I had four cats: Then I reminded him that neither he nor I had a single rat, mouse, gopher, or feral cat to contend with. (Trust me, 'vector control' is no more concerned with wharf rats than they seem to be with coyotes.)

People and cats, and dogs, ferrets, and multiple mongoose (spelling unknown) hang out together for a reason, romanticizing coyotes assumes that the reason has ceased to exist - it hasn't.

Solution: one shot into the coyote’s spine. Then dump into pre-dug trench just across neighbor’s property line, and bury. “Yeah, my car backfired, I gotta find a new mechanic.”

You are misinformed. Silencers are not illegal if you pay the tax stamp on them. If you can own a gun you can pay the taxes for one and you are 100% legal.

In fact, before the 1930s when they passed the tax on silencers, most people in urban areas used them regularly in order to target practice or hunt without bothering their neighbors. Hardly anyone used them for illegal snipings.

There are a couple native cat species here, Puma Concolor or cougar, Lynx Rufus, or Bobcat.

Felis Catus, or the common domestic housecat is not one of them.

It is an invasive species and should be eradicated from North America.

Before the 1930’s they came up with the .22 so they could have indoor shooting ranges in some of the larger mansions of the day !

“Silencers are not illegal if you pay the tax stamp on them.”

Silencers fall under the National Firearms Act at a federal level and most states also cover them.

If you are manufacturing silencers you are most likely breaking the law.

If you are target shooting in your back yard you would be stupid unless you have a 180 acre back yard.

Wow, either people like you are really getting to me today or you can’t read without assuming certain things.

First: Silencers are legal for civilian possession in now 36 states. They have always been legal under Federal law provided you can own a gun, pay the tax stamp and do all the paperwork. It require fingerprints, a photograph and a signature by your Sheriff. It is a one time federal tax of $200 for each suppressor.

Second: You can legally build your own silencer (assuming you can legally own a firearm). In order to build your own silencer, you must first fill out a Form 1, get finger printed, fill out a citizenship form, get your chief of police to sign the Form 1 and send the ATF a check for $200 along with all your paperwork. As soon as the approved paperwork is returned to you, only then can you begin to build your own silencer.

Third, where the heck did I say they were target shooting in their own back yard???? It was for outdoor ranges around cities. Heck a lot of gun clubs were on the shores of lakes where towns were. They used them out of politeness to keep the noise levels down, and not freak people out. People used them when they went hunting during the different seasons so as not to scare people.

This kitty thread (and this one as well) is a downer. For those who want a quick summary: Keep your kitties indoors. For those who venture herein, a warning: The jerks have found this one.

Oddly enough, in my GF’s neighborhood, a coyote killed a puppy. Maybe it’s nature’s way of eliminating those blasted invasive species known as canis domesticus.

Cats killing all the birds is a fallacy...try to read more. Do you allow birds in your back yard? Did you know they bring over 60 diseases to your back yard?

No.
I am a "linguistic nominalist"; that is, I only obey laws I agree with... or ones that are too dangerous to scoff at - such as income taxes.

I keep my kitties indoors although, being a World War II buff, I think a good, ole M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield or German Mauser 98 (or Kar-98) would be a good way to take care of those coyotes. The Japanese Arisaka in 6.5mm Japanese is a good, accurate gun too.
