DISRESPECTFUL to the Office of the President of the United States.
Oh, I’m sure the MSM can find HUNDREDS of pictures where previous presidents had their dirty shoes propped up on the desk in the Oval Office of the White House!!
/sarc
(Thank God the desk President Bush used was removed from that room and is hopefully in a safe place somewhere—did he get to keep it?)
According to a 2003 editorial in the Wall Street Journal by TUNKU VARADARAJAN, one of the greatest insults one can make in Islam is to show the sole of your foot:
As anyone who has been to the Middle East (or even to countries like India) knows, the foot and shoe are imbued with considerable significance.
The foot occupies the lowest rung in the bodily hierarchy and the shoe, in addition to being something in which the foot is placed, is in constant contact with dirt, soil and worse. The sole of the shoe is the most unclean part of an unclean object....In the Muslim world, according to Hume Horan, a former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia, to have the sole of the shoe directed toward one is pretty much the equivalent of someone in our culture giving you the finger. Matthew Gordon, a historian of Islam, says that since one takes ones shoes off before entering a mosqueas a way of maintaining the purity of the place of worshipthe use of a shoe as something to hit you with is an inversion, directing impurity and pollution at the object of the beating.

I find it interesting that this is the picture selected by the White House to memorialize Obamas conversation with Netanyahu.
Doubt it. It was JFK’s.
To be clear, only the first and last paragraphs of my post are my writing. The middle of the post was supposed to be indented as it is a quote from Varadarajan’s article, but I screwed up the formatting.
bttt

Phone: Mr. President, Mr. Netanyahu is on the phone for you.
Zero: Can someone PLEASE tell me who this guy is and why he keeps trying to contact me? I thought Chavez was supposed to Holla at me! Hey, has Castro called yet? Tell that Netanyahu fella that I'll call him back... No need to get a number though.
Do you mean that Obama is disrespectful to the office of the president of the US?
So, the photo was taken DURING Zero’s conversation with Isreal’s PM?
Odd, he put on a Muslim cloth to go see Egypt - right next door to Isreal......
Perfect picture of a used car salesman!
Hello?.....Yes ! this is Odinga Motor Car Corporation. May I help you?

My thoughts exactly and you said it perfectly for me.
“I already told you: In the interest of preserving what’s left of our national unity, I have decided against trying Bush and Cheney as the war criminals they are.”
Mob boss at work.

I'm very sorry Mr. Soros. It was the teleprompter's fault. 2 centuries...20 centuries...what's the difference anyway?
People are so stupid they actually believed the Hope-Change thing, so it's no big deal.
Crap. HolyO probably had it chopped up for firewood to heat up the Oval Office!

...yes, it's 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. One large meat-lovers, uh... but no ham or bacon! Within 30 minutes or it's free, right?
Although the language may have been rude, the sentiment was correct.
You think Bush and Cheney are war criminals?
This in our oval office.
This is not much different that bubba having monica under his desk while he discussed deployments to Bosnia.
Trash is trash is trash.
This was by design.
Whew, I’m much more secure talking to you on the phone. When we’re face to face you make me look like a wimp. I mean, did you see those OTHER pictures of me when you were here? I couldn’t even look in your direction.
Every day he reaches further lows....
I think he was captioning obama in that statement.
The Resolute desk has a marvelous history.
I’m sure the British are pleased to see Obama’s shoes on it.
Hope he doesn’t have dog poop on them.
Obama has obviously never been taught basic protocol or manners.
Or else he’s just a pig.
He put his shoes on the leather seats of the presidential limo when he was with Brian Williams.
“As Obama laments his lost freedom, his suit jacket is off and his feet are propped on the seat adjacent him.
The presidential seal is embroidered on the leather seat over his left shoulder ..”
Obama flings basketballs around the Oval Office, which I suppose is better than masturbating ( and having oral and anal sexual contacts )
in the Oval Office like Bill Clinton, but,
he still has plenty of time to prefect his perversions and disrespect-
” and catching a basketball in the Oval Office (you werent supposed to film that.)

Yeah, maybe.
Pres. Bush used the same desk (”The Resolute Desk”) and yes, I’ve seen pictures of Bush with his feet on it. But carry on...
Ahem. See my post #33.
Same desk.
Different President.
But I adore the daily outbursts of false outrage here.
How’s about we focus on issues instead of making REPEATED fools ourselves?
The title of this thread is “Caption this Picture of Obama in the Oval Office.”
Ucantbserious used quotation marks, in the spirit of captioning the photo.
It couldn’t have been any more obvious.
Arrrrrggghhhh. I have a photo of myself with President Bush in front of that desk. Photos cannot do justice to the beauty of the wordwork.
well, they claim the picture was taken during the call, but I have no reason to believe it.
” Hows about we focus on issues instead of making REPEATED fools ourselves? “
The Resolute desk has a marvelous history.
No one, not even George Bush, should put their feet upon it.
As far as we know George Bush did not put his shoes on the leather seats of the presidential limo.
Nor toss a basketball around the Oval Office.
Sorry, but I have never seen that picture.
So, I guess you assumed that I did.
And yes, I still find it disrespectful.
