Brasov, Romania (AHN) - Electricy and water don't mix!
A Romanian teen died of electrocution while Twittering in her bathtub, after she dropped her laptop in the water.
Found by her parents with her laptop lying next to her, Maria Barbu, 17, of Brasov in central Romania, died in her bathtub at home, the Croatian Times reported.
Police believe she may have tried to plug in the laptop with her wet hands after her battery died during a long Twitter session.

Probably 220 volts there, as in most countries.
I doubt the cause was dropping the laptop—since they all run off wall-warts, no?

I wuz just thinking: Give Darwinism a chance. It's the worst enemy of it's biggest proponents.

Some people really do take twitter too far. I have some friends of mine who seem to tweet every single thing they do. It’s not necessary!

It’s the price you pay for having a 220V system. I am assuming the power adapter fell into the water as well.

I have to say that after all the years of following technology, trying to be on the cutting edge of all new technologies and crazes...I just REFUSE TO DO THIS TWITTER THING. It just seems so self-serving. I don’t understand the need to put every little thought you have out there...it drives me crazy on FACEBOOK..I think it’s kind of sad.

This was a young girl.
I don’t think you’d be posting such shallow comments if this young person was blood of your blood and bone of your bone.
Moderator, such posts, in my opinion, disparage the credibility and moral compass of FR.

I have been through Brasov, a nice mountain city.
Romanian teens make up an unusually high volume of internet users, and I have had chats with many.
I have only recently gotten rid of a sizable group that
kept calling me on Yahoo Messenger.
In this case, they did not speak English, and I do not know Romanian.
I gather this girl reached to plug in the wall cube (220 v).
Because most all electronic devices now run on very low voltage, young people have lost respect for high and dangerous AC voltage of the wall sockets.
Sad for the girl and her family.

disparage the credibility and moral compass of FR. We've always been tarred with the same broad brush by liberals no matter how sensitive or caring we truly are.
So, What the Hell! May as well be hanged for goats as sheep.
Don't know if you watched the young lady in Iran die, who happened to be trying to be free, but the gloves are pretty much off with folks that want "my type" to "not rock the boat"

I’ve never needed a prescription for it, hence no real knowledge of its spelling. Evidently you are an expert on its spelling for some reason. Based on your anal retentive emotionalism I am guessing its because you border on addiction to the drug.

Its the price you pay for having a 220V system. I am assuming the power adapter fell into the water as well. 120v isn't exactly safe, either. Actually, in a bathtub context, anything above, say, 12v should be considered hazardous.
