I had to change the channel, too, but waited a little while to see if Shep would start actually crying! He just blubbered on and on.

Hey MaryJean, what do you expect?
FoxNews is not really conservative, it is SHOWBIZ!
As for Shep ‘weeping’ over Jacko, again, it fits the pattern.
I mean if FoxNews was serious conservative news and journalism would they have ever hired Geraldo Rivera-?

Sickening, fawning coverage. Shepard Smith said Michael Jackson was the most famous person in the world --- although that may be questionable because of the fame of Øbama. I wanted to puke. Then comes Al Sharpton yelling about what good friends he and Jacko were. Even Joe Pesci called in.
THIS is what is IMPORTANT to the majority of Americans! Dunces, fools, ignoramuses!
Has Hollywood stopped to think that when we have all lost our livelihoods and buried in taxation --- we won't be able to support their adulation habit any longer? How are they going to make money from a Third World America?

FOX Loves Celebrity gossip stories, and will push ALL other stories aside for them. How many hours did we get of OJ?
To: Mean Maryjean
I was thinking the same.
There’s no much bad shit in Congress right now with the vote tomorrow on ‘cap and tax’, and some valuable time is being WASTED on this coverage.
I know it’s a big story, but it shouldn’t have ‘wall to wall’ coverage like a major earthquake or something of the like.

Yep. I agree with your prescription.
This is a big story. And it JUST happened. It’s a shock. Smith just said something about the internet being inundated. I’m not surprised.
He was a celebrity. He was also controversial.

Jacksons death will suck all the air out of TV programming for the next few nights Which is probably driving Kim Jong-Il nuts (well, more nuts).

I felt sure that the regular "Special Report" would resume but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, just more run of the various loops FNC had of the white girl who used to be a black boy!

At first Greta came out and was calling MJ a little Freak Boy with a lot of problems both physical and mental. Then about an hour later she is back on again with sheppie saying what a great talent the little pedo was, she totally changed her tune... There must be a Big Fox tie in somewhere...
To: Mean Maryjean
NO, NOT MORE SHEP!!!!!!!!!
To: yield 2 the right
I know.
I used to love Michael Jackson. I remember the premiere of the “Thriller” video. After the child abuse allegations, the music made me feel hinky.
Jackson was a seriously messed up man...he was basically indentured underage slave labor for a totalitarian abusive father.

To: Mean Maryjean
Your mistake was turning on the TV and expecting to see actual news. That business died a long time ago. As the ad-based broadcast business model swirls the drain expect nothing but "infotainment" at best, and increasingly lurid sensationalism as the norm for any broadcast medium.
What is disappointing is how much cyber-ink this sort of stuff gets even on FR. It is reflective of the culture as a whole.

Its all part of the ratings game.
Your fellow Americans would rather hear about a dead, bleached-out, dancing, pedophile than a tall, skinny mulatto that's about to grab $1,800+/year out of their pockets.
Never fear, the mulatto will be back on full-time, prime-time, tomorrow.

Not just Obamacare being covered up, what about that big Cap and Trade Energy Bill to be voted on in the House tomorrow that is going to screw us all really bad for 30 years? Nobody is talking about that at all. A conspiracy of deaths I say, to knock the real news off the tube. Death always comes in 3’s and there are still several hours to go today...
To: indylindy
Sorry, you don’t understand the news business.
I thought the coverage of his trial was over the top but news of the death of the most recognizable man in the world is, indeed, news. There isn’t a single news outlet in the world who won’t cover this constantly for the next few days.
