At 4.8 if you never left your basement and smoked 3 packs a day you might get lung cancer. I have had readings up to 130. They discovered Radon in homes by a guy at a nuclear power plant up north. He was setting the radiation meters off when he came to work. They traced it back to his house which had a reading of over 2000. At that level you might get cancer.
