I used to live next to a manufacturing outfit that made midgets.
Had a small distribution network, used short haul truckers.

Midgets lack a proper amount of human growth hormone (HGH) (IIRC), because HGH is easily produced and administered, there is no reason for anyone (in the advanced world) to have to be a midget if they don’t want to be.
Dwarfism is caused (IIRC) by a defect in a bone elongation gene. This is not as easily produced and administered as a dwarf is born as a dwarf; while a midget just fails to develop proper human growth without the application of HGH (by nature or medical administration).
In fact, if I was either a dwarf or a midget I would HAVE to wear a “FUN SIZE” T-shirt nearly EVERYWHERE; and look for women who had heard of Toulouse le Trek. ;)
I would LOVE to ban Randy Neuman but dear God Disney just keeps using him over and over and over with the same damn tune over and over and over until I want to bash my short people brains in!

Who was that comic who was corrected for using the word “midget” when the correct word was “dwarf?”
Oh ... excuse me! Midgets are little people with proportionally correct physical features. A dwarf has flippers where his arms should be!

I am short only 5’6” and I have been called a midget. So what, if you can not deal with something as insignificant as an insult then grow the hell up.

Years ago, my wife found a stray kitten in the woods behind our house.
He was all white and obviously very sick.
She rushed him to our vet and part of the exam was a blood draw which had to be sent out to an outside lab.
A name was needed on the blood work and off the top of her head, she said since he’s one color-put down Whitey.
Well, the next day the lab called the vet and said the name “ Whitey “ was racist
and was offensive to the techs doing the tests.
So, we had to add an N and he became Whitney.
But, only on paper , we always called him Whitey.
We can always use a ‘little’ humor...

Actually, a midget is a person of normal arm/leg ratio: like a human but smaller. Often due to pituitary problems. I've never seen a case (they usually are treated with growth hormone injections nowadays).
Dwarves are usually with shortened limbs. The most common is the achondroplastic dwarf, who has typical features that make them look alike. But there are several other types of dwarfism too.
