A Mum Of Four At 18! Teenager Has Her Hands Full With Triplets And A Toddler

A mum of four at 18! Teenager has her hands full with triplets and a toddler

EMILY ANDREWS 20th July 2009

It's hard enough being a teenage mother with just one child.

So when 17-year-old Sian Robbins was told she was pregnant with triplets - to add to the little boy she already had - she knew she was in for a tough time.

To make things worse, the babies - Taylor, Tyler and Levi - were born 11 weeks premature and all three boys had to stay in hospital in incubators.

Triple treat: Levi, Tyler and Taylor after they were brought home from hospital

Doctors had warned of complications and during the unplanned pregnancy Miss Robbins, now 18, faced the agonising choice of whether to abort one of the triplets to give the other two a better chance of survival.

But she refused, saying: 'I knew that I faced a higher risk of miscarriage but was determined to give all three of them an equal chance.'

Luckily the gamble paid off and seven weeks after their birth all three have been allowed home.

Levi and Tyler weighed just 2lb 6oz after their birth, while Taylor was slightly heavier at 2lb 14oz.

All three were so tiny they could fit into the palm of their mother's hand, but now they weigh 4lb each, to the delight of Miss Robbins and her boyfriend Callum Thomas, 19.

Goofy girl needs to learn the aspirin birth control device. Hold an aspirin between your knees and don’t let it fall. Works every time.

As long as they’re on community assistance, and have proven they will pop out kids like rabbits, they need to tie her legs together, put a cork up one or both of them, or chop of his dangle - since they are obviously too stupid to get govt-supplied birth control for her.

The Daily Mail is deeply disappointed. The drunken nurse on night duty in the obstetrical ward had assured them that the sonogram showed one baby with three heads.

What a comedown.

Let me guess, Sian is on welfare, has been since before the birth of her first child. Thank you LBJ and your so called great society.

The family lives on benefits in a two-bedroom council house in Portsmouth but they are hoping to be given a bigger house, although they are adamant there will be no more babies.

...

'I haven't got a job at the moment as I want to stay at home and look after Sian and the kids but I will be looking for a job soon.'

Aww... Isn't that precious...

Oh, I don't know. Perhaps her young yob's hotlessness was even greater than her own. And of course, being a young guy, his need was great ......

I loathe LBJ as much as you do, but this one isn't his fault. The story comes from England.

He needn't bother. The British taxpayers will be the providers.

>>But she refused, saying: ‘I knew that I faced a higher risk of miscarriage but was determined to give all three of them an equal chance.’<<

Hey, she may be stupid and promiscuous and a drain on the economy, but she chose not to murder any of her children — such murder would have certainly been applauded in lefty Britain.

It is a quandary but we need to support her ultimate proper decision while certainly condemning the series of decisions that led to it.

The truism is more true than ever: if you want more of something (such as premarital sex and single moms), subsidize it.

C'mon, you have to admit that they are darling! But, it is appalling that she got pregnant with the older child at FIFTEEN. And then she split up with his father. These triplets are from a different BF.

Why is it always a BF? Don't these baby factories ever consider getting married? Or, is these something in the British welfare rules that discourages marriage?

Didn’t read the article to see that it was UK. Will not have to look far to find one we can blame on LBJ.

yes we can support her decision to carry all three to term. I wish we could carry things a step farther, and encourage/compel people who can’t take care of these kids to give them up for adoption.

Young people nowadays can’t believe that there used to be homes for unwed mothers. They can’t believe that it was scandalous to be pregnant without a husband. All of that is beyond their comprehension. Yet, it was society’s solution to a difficult problem, to give those babies up for adoption to families who could provide for them. Can anyone honestly say that today’s solution, to just let these young girls go on welfare and live difficult lives is better for them or their children?

What beautiful babies. The snoozing tyke with his fist obliviously stuck in brother’s face is especially cute.

As for baby daddy Callum not having a job, Her Majesty’s forces could probably find something for him if he can pass the aptitude test.

“Her Majesty’s forces could probably find something for him if he can pass the aptitude test.”

That’s intriguing. If England passed a law requiring that a male who impregnates an unmarried female would be required to immediately enter military service, I bet the preggers rate would go down real quick.

IMO it's a darn good investment for the British taxpayers.

Looks like they're being well cared for by the Mum. Nice looking couple and family, I wish them well and who doesn't need a helping hand now and then.

I have a friend who found herself pregnant after a one night stand with a co-worker 12 years ago. She had already moved to another state when she found out. She called the man to let him know that she was going to have the baby. He immediately packed his bags and moved to be near my friend...they married almost immeidately and today they have four children in total and are one of the happiest families I know.

That's not saying it's been easy, but they made a CHOICE to make it work...and sometimes you fake it til you make it...and they have.

Well, if you think about it, a married couple where the husband works and the wife is a stay-at-home mom isn’t going to get a lot of gov’t assistance, if any. Now, if the stay-at-home mom is ‘single’ and unemployed, she’s getting loads of assistance, and if the boyfriend has a job, he can use that to help support the children in addition to what the mom is getting from welfare. So yeah, I suppose it would be more profitable...
