The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse or Congress is this —you cannot post ‘Thou Shall Not Steal’, ‘Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery’, and ‘Thou Shall Not Lie’ in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians .... it creates a hostile work environment.

Got some vacation pic's uploaded today. I took this picture of my family in front of Bubba Gumps on the beach in Daytona Beach Fla in June.

Brother's wife, brother, friend, niece, DH, nephew and his wife.

Amy, it has been a very busy day, here.

And, everytime I tried to log on - it just happened that FR was down. Wish I knew what was going on......

I just sprayed (bug spray) a spider as big as a lime, out in my garage. Part of me feels guilty, and the other part of me is thinking, “At least he won’t be crawling into my open mouth, as I am sleeping tonight. Sigh.

And, of course, anyone who knows what wolfie means to the three of us must also know that he is an integral part of Amy’s Place and always will be. I think it goes without saying, we would never allow him (or PapaBear) to be cropped out of Amy’s Place.

Thanks, fuzzy. : )

Cute graphic!

You can have a piece of me. Anything but my tail.

Because you'd probably tie it to your truck's antenna.....
and let it flap in the breeze of the dusty old Texas back roads. : (

Together Again!

We sure are. Ain't we got fun? I see you did add yourself, Billie.
How did you go missing in the first place?

Guess a big bump in the road tossed you out. And we didn't miss you until today. LOL

I hope you've finally learned to wear your seatbelt. : )

Shiver me timbers. Guilty? I kill all spiders.

Marissa had to tell my BIL about your snake and the pack rat. She thought that was funny.

I’m hoping the attacks on FR stop soon. It is so frustrating when it takes 4 tries before something sticks. I heard that both Facebook and Twitter were hit by hackers last week. I think it is an attack on our FRee Speech.

The Love Of Rules
Love is the fulfillment of the law. —Romans 13:10

When I teach writing, I explain that it’s generally better to use short words or phrases first in a series, as in “arts and letters” and “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Early in my career, I explained to authors that it just sounds better this way, but then I discovered a “rule” about this. And I learned that authors are more likely to accept editorial changes when I can point them to a rule than when I just say, “Trust me.”

This is typical of human nature. We have a love/hate relationship with rules. We don’t like rules, but we’re unsure how to determine right from wrong without them.

God had a relationship with Adam and Eve that was based on loving trust. The only rule necessary was one that protected them from knowledge that would end in death. But when disobedience broke the trusting relationship, God added more rules to protect the wayward couple and their offspring.

In Christ, God proclaimed once more that the good life He wants for us is not about rules but a relationship. As Paul wrote, all the commandments can be summarized in one word: love. Because we are “in Christ,” we can enjoy peace with God and others—not because there’s a rule, but because there is love.

Though freed from the law with its stern commands—
No longer ruled by its harsh demands—
I’m bound by Christ’s love and am only free
To live and to act responsibly. —D. De Haan

The greatest force on earth is not the compulsion of law but the compassion of love.
