Bill O'Reilly supports having Socialism as an option for healthcare?
The O'Reilly Factor | 9/16/09 | TheBigIf

I was just listening to the O'Reilly factor and Bill started saying that he supports a government option for healthcare and that he wants to see one.

I'm an O'Reilly fan mainly because he does look out for the kids. I've defended him many times, even on this forum. But I have to say that ever since his election interview with Obama it seems O'Reilly has a soft spot for him. I don't get it. I *know* O'Reilly is smart enough to realize no company can successfully compete against the government. I *know* O'Reilly knows every program the government touches is rife with waste, fraud, and bankruptcy. I *know* O'Reilly knows we are smarter than to accept it; the Fox poll showed (as I recall) 98% of viewers oppose Obamacare. So what does he gain by pulling for Obamacare under the guise of "fair and balanced". I don't understand the advantage in that at all.

He also supports global warming legislation and legislation on what oil companies are allowed to make... he is no independent as he has claimed for years, his liberal side is coming our really bad since his Labor Day vacation... even my husband was yelling at the screen tonight.

Interesting point, something has really changed with him in the last few weeks, it has been bad off and on, but he really jumped the shark now.

Yes, he defended Obama’s work for ACORN saying “that was 13 years ago, not a big deal”......... thing is there is a picture of Obama WITH ACORN in 2007 and I sent that to BOR just yesterday... I really think he’s trying to get another Obama interview.

The man is clueless about economics and being wealthy he has lost touch with his much-touted middle class roots.

Bill O’Reilly “just lookin’ out for the people”.

Actually, he says he's "just lookin' out for the FOLKS." And to me, that's fingernails on a blackboard....

Thing is before he went on vacation he was beating up Obama on healthcare and since he came back he has been cheerleader for healthcare.

IMO, he has been playing “devils advocate” more lately because his ratings have been soaring...”historic” he said tonight.

I believe he is a populist, but his over the top shtick lately has been a put-on for the most part. To counter Beck.

I fell away when he trashed FreeRepublic as a hate sight same as DU and DailyKos.

He shook papers in Kristenn’s face claiming evidence, but neither he nor his producer when pushed could back up the racist assertion with a post.

That’s when I realized his no spin zone was in a perpetual rinse cycle.

...it seems that O’Reilly supports having the government compete with the private sector.

As I heard on a radio show today, no insurance company competes with the government for mandated flood insurance.

I frankly don’t care if he’s left, center, or right as long as he has something interesting on the show. The problem I have with him is that I rarely have any “takeaway” from the show, at least from him. His thinking is generally shallow, involving no real effort. He just tries to whip up populist sentiment. This is the problem with moderates, though. If they or the left really could think, they’d be conservatives. Any time anyone gets into any kind of thinking, BOR always says “it makes my head hurt.”
