S. Fla. man dies while diving for golf balls

DEERFIELD BEACH— Authorities say a man has died while diving for golf balls in a South Florida country club’s lake.
The body of 75-year-old Jerry Gunderson was recovered Saturday morning at the Deer Creek Country Club in Deerfield Beach.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says Gunderson was last seen by his wife Friday evening. An employee at the country club noticed an abandoned car parked near the lake and called police.
A dive unit arrived and recovered Gunderson from the center of the lake. Oxygen tanks, a dive mask and other grass clippings were found in his car.
The cause of death is being investigated.

We had a lab who looked just like that. He went for rocks in the creek behind our house. He would not chase a ball, but throw a rock in the water and he was gone! Not a sissy rock, but a baby boulder. He would not come up for air until he had the rock in his mouth.
He had an iron stomach. One day he passed three golf balls without any straining. He lived to be 16. He’s been gone 12 years and we still miss him. :-(

I didn’t grow up Catholic, hubby went to catholic school until he and 2 of his friends were asked to leave, then he went to a school called Aero-mechanics, for 1 sememster before he was asked to leave, ended up at Pershing HIgh School where we were in the same music class...he graduated from Pershing, but use to talk about this one nun named Sister Black and Decker, (I want to give the last part of her name but I will get banned if I do) Pe*cker wrecker.I am sure she is in that bunch someplace...
