Kit Bond from Missouri isn’t running again. Will probably end up with a Carnahan. Yuck.

Snowe has mentioned several times that she is not going to seek election again. How about Dem seats?

I don’t think we should wait for election time to get the Snowejob out. Let her go by way of the Specter.

You have a lot of information there that doesn't account for retirements and other issues.

First, there will be 36 seats up for election in 2010. 18 of those seats are currently held by Republicans, 18 by Democrats.

On to the things that (I think) I know.

Florida: Senator LeMieux (AKA Senator Seatwarmer, or Senator MiniMe) will not be running. He was appointed by Crist to keep the seat warm until Crist gets there. Crist is a RINO. He will have strong opposition in the primary from Marco Rubio. Rubio is closing in the polls for the primary. Both Republicans are ahead of the Democrat challenger right now in head to head matchups for the General election. Crist has massive funding, and the support of the Republican Senate Campaign Committee. Rubio has support from many conservatives, including a campaign donation from Karl Rove. This primary race will be a measure of conservativism and the ability of the Republican party to lean its own house.

More to follow.

More, as promised.

Kentucky, Bunning is retiring. This is another primary battleground. Rand Paul (Ron’s son) is running for this seat.

Delaware is in play. Biden’s old seat will be contested. I think this is one that wouldn’t be up in 2010, but since Biden vacated the seat to become VP, there is a special election to fill the rest of his term. His son will be running, and there is a strong Republican challenger (probably moderate/RINO, but Delaware isn’t a very conservative state). The Republican challenger, I can’t remember his name right now, has been elected statewide in Delaware several times, and has never lost an election IIRC. This will be an interesting race.

I have to be someplace at 6:30, so I can’t continue right now. Hopefully others will fill in details.

No one in any state should vote for a single one of these creeps.

Interesting mix of options for 2010 in senate seats. The Class III seats are 34 currently made up of 18 Rs and 16 Ds to be filled on Nov. 2, 2010. This includes the Obama .. moved to President .. seat currently held by Roland Burris.

Then we have the following seats as a result of Obama’s election and Kennedy’s death as I remember them to be filled in some manner of which I’m not sure of each states’ requirements. The seats are currently occupied via a Governor’s temporary appointment if I remember correctly.

Biden .. moved to VP
Clinton .. moved to SOS
Kennedy .. death

And if Hutchison [TX] resigns in late 2009 as she says she will there will be a special election on May 8, 2010 to fill that seat unless the Gov. declares an emergency and calls the election earlier.

OMG, look at that list! How could any of them possibly get reelected given the mood of the country and the awakening of the sleeping giant on 9/12?!

Aahhh, light bulb clicking on.

Now I know why I have seen clips of Barbara Boxer (D) indirectly chiding Obama for not heeding the experts in the field and not supporting Gen. McChrystal’s call for more troops.
