That’s why we wonder why Limbaugh and Ailes for example, don’t pool their money on a conservative alternative to Fox News instead of wasting it trying to buy a football team. Why can’t we buy CBS? Why can’t we buy NBC? We need a network of our own.

He did not organize them he strongly advised people to get off their collective butts and stand up and fight.

Exactly so, and he is the first one to decry the idea that he has corralled all these folks. People give him way too much credit for things that Glenn himself acknowledges he doesn't deserve, the same way the blame him for things that are no more than gossip, hearsay, (ooh look, a blithering moron posting legal terms, whooda thunk?) and nonsense.

Tell me, what role did Beck play in helping to win Virginia and New Jersey this last election, besides having Christie on the last few days? And why did he wait so long, well after Rush, Sean, and Levin, to back Hoffman in the 23rd? He also announced on his tv show yesterday that we cannot defeat national health care. Is that how you emboldened people to fight Washington? By telling them that the end is inevitable unless, of course, you attend only those events (profit-making in some cases) that Beck endorses? And what of this third party stuff? Is that the way to victory? Or should we take back the GOP as Reagan urged and did?

I question if il Duce is as much a community organizer as a rabble rouser. Beck is no rabble rouse, unless you mean by singlehandedly organizing an opposition to the takeover when the rest of the movement was shuffling their feet and looking at the ground and saying “I hope they shut me down last.” How could you say something like that? Do you consider us RABBLE?

Savage seem like a man on his own, but I think thats Savage’s fault. Savage has way too much ego and he’s to hostile to other political allies

Yes he is. Glenn Beck is first and foremost, a Radio Man, and second a Radio Journalist. Yes, I know he is now blowing up on TV, but if you know anything about him, you know that growing up all he wanted to do was be on the RADIO and that Radio has been the model he has used to build his career since he sobered up.

Thats why Rush is still the best. Hannity repeat too much while Rush invent new lexicon and have his own unique take on any issue of the day

Really, could have fooled me. I thought he was our leader? He spent the entire 9/12 show talking about himself, and now and then credited all those hard-working folks who actually organized the event long before he got involved, who made the calls, sent the emails, paid for the transportation, etc. You are part of a cult of personality. Be careful.

Savage is an emotional nutcase, bi-polar is my diagnosis. When he is taking his meds he is OK but when he goes off them he is nuts.

Freepers.

“The apostrophe is possessive; plural uses no apostrophe.”

What does it have to do with Glenn’s Beck’s? (My father too, was an English professor)

I have heard Rush and Hannity mention Beck in passing but other than Hannity, I never hear any of then mention Boortz, or Savage. These guys are all about reporting the news. The old school rule is that the reporter or commentator should not be the story.

Levin HATES him with a fiery passion that will never be quenched. He calls him Weiner, which is his real name, and makes fun of him for talking about his dog, Teddy, his favorite italian restaurants, etc. Savage... is a trip. People say its made up, and maybe somewhat it is, but I think he’s genuinely an old curmudgeon who doesn’t work or play well with others. Probably, almost certainly, an alcoholic, and over the top, way over the top, just in enough control to stay on the air, though I’ve heard him have to censor himself.

Levin is great. I don’t mind them calling him the great one. I like it when he smacks the libs around, but I just don’t sense that he is making a difference, taking it to the next level.

Beck has taken it to the next level. Dobbs took it to the next level. In truth, I never watched Dobbs, and Glenn is too upsetting for me to watch regularly, and he stole Pat Gray away from me. But I admire them.

I do like and listen to Rush on occasion, but I wonder why he emphasizes words like “isss-you” (issue) and others when a) nobody pronounces them like that, b) he is using the wrong pronunciation, and c) he sounds like a self-important blowhard when using that patronizing tone.

Dobbs took what to the next level? Are you kidding me? Ok I’ll givew him the border issue, but that’s not groundbreaking to me, any conservative worth his or her salt didn’t want illegals crossing the border.

My wife and I came to the conclusion that the reason he is being shunned by the powers that be is due to his aligning himself with O'Reilly.

He should be shunned. Bill O'Reilly is a Democrat Party operative. He cheerfully admits that he has NEVER voted for a Republican for any office, nor even endorsed one.

Anyone unfortunate enough to have witnessed BOR's slavish and repulsive osculation of The Obama gluteal regions during their "interview," would never watch him again, never mind buy a ticket to see him and Beck on their tour.

BOR is a fake, he is the MSM marketing attempt to lock up some portion of the older male, largely Catholic "blue collar" audience. His politics are for all practical purposes, the same as Chris Matthews'.

I have to say, I was going along with Glenn's own denial that he considers himself a journalist, especially when others like Behar say it with a sneer in the voice. But when I look at the dictionary definition of journalism:

The collecting, writing, editing, and presenting of news or news articles in newspapers and magazines and in radio and television broadcasts.

Well, yes, it's hard not to see Beck as a journalist, the same as these other guys. But I will add this portion of the definition:

The style of writing characteristic of material in newspapers and magazines, consisting of direct presentation of facts or occurrences with little attempt at analysis or interpretation.

And object to it with Glenn specifically in mind -- he does not comport with the "little attempt at analysis or interpretation" portion, while most journalists leave the facts/story up to the interpretation of the reader/listener, Glenn does puts a good bit of work into his commentary.

But I will stand corrected.

>> I don’t hear anything I haven’t heard them say a million times <<

Agreed, as far as most of the big-time rightwing talkers are concerned. I like what they say, but it gets very stale after a while.

On the other hand, I listen more and more to Dennis Prager since he DOES have the ability to analyze things in a new light. I’ve learned a lot from him lately.

Exactly, wishy washy is a good way to put it. He claimed to a guest yesterday that he would interview Palin just as he interviewed Obama, and he was saying that as if he did a great job interviewing Obama with his softball questions...

It is odd seeing O'Reilly and Beck on each others programs, and I think it is probably due to FOX's demands more than their own mutual respect, or at the least the same goal of ratings=$$$ for them personally. Even though I see their own ideologies as pretty different aren't they both self described Libertarians?
