Oooops .... I did it again. :(
Post #97 was for you. My brain is still sleeping. This cold weather makes me want to crawl back in bed. :)

Just Playing
by Anita Wadley
When Im building in the block room,
Please dont say Im Just playing.
For, you see, Im learning as I play,
About balance, I may be an architect someday.
When Im getting all dressed up,
Setting the table, caring for the babies,
Dont get the idea Im Just Playing.
I may be a mother or a father someday.
When you see me up to my elbows in paint,
Or standing at an easel, or molding and shaping clay,
Please dont let me hear you say, He is Just Playing.
For, you see, Im learning as I play.
I just might be a teacher someday.
When you see me engrossed in a puzzle
Or some playing at my school,
Please dont feel the time is wasted in play.
For you see, Im learning as I play.
Im learning to solve problems and concentrate.
I may be in business someday.
When you see me cooking or tasting foods,
Please dont think that because I enjoy it, it is Just Play.
Im learning to follow directions and see the differences.
I may be a cook someday.
When you see me learning to skip, hop, run, and move my body,
Please dont say Im Just Playing.
For, you see, Im learning as I play.
Im learning how my body works.
I may be a doctor, nurse, or athlete someday.
When you ask me what Ive done at school today,
And I say, I just played.
Please dont misunderstand me.
For, you see, Im learning as I play.
Im learning to enjoy and be successful in my work.
Im preparing for tomorrow.
Today, I am a child and my work is play.

I received those in an email. I really enjoyed them. Isn’t it amazing how statements sound different when re-read? Bloopers are fun when they belong to someone else. LOL
I will take that Georgian rain, accent and all! LOL
I had some tears yesterday as I decorated our tree. LOTS of memories, some good , some sad...but I’m with you... the GOOD memories will dominate my heart this year!
;o)
I’m with you, Polly, on the ‘good memories’.

Another cute yorkie - thank you, Amy!
ahhhhhhhhhh and that is a FRESH tree... smells so wonderful. I sure miss the smell....but I usually go to Home Depot and buy up several cuttings to put in the room... then no one knows my tree is a fake! LOL
funny, you got me on that one:)
:^)
Thanks, Yorkie.
I have a few more Yorkies saved. Soon I will need to go see Mr. G again.
Happy Birthday
I just found the little dog today and I thought he was so cute! My tree isn’t real either but I think its beautiful when I get it decorated. One thing for sure, I think they are safer and we can put them up earlier because we don’t have to worry about them drying out and causing a fire.
I have a can of Christmas Tree spray and just 1 quick spray does the trick. Don’t want much. And all sprays in cans are not the same. Some are bad smelling.

Thanks, Meg.
Great idea, I usually get candles but it’s just not the same.
Ahh .... how cute.
It will be here before we know it!!

On Susan Boyle, from Hans Christen Anderson's story - The Ugly Duckling:
See, cried the youngest, there is a new one; and the rest were delighted, and ran to their father and mother,
dancing and clapping their hands, and shouting joyously,
There is another swan come; a new one has arrived.
Then they threw more bread and cake into the water, and said, The new one is the most beautiful of all;
he is so young and pretty. And the old swans bowed their heads before him.
Then he felt quite ashamed, and hid his head under his wing; for he did not know what to do,
he was so happy, and yet not at all proud.
He had been persecuted and despised for his ugliness, and now he heard them say he was the most beautiful of all the birds.
Even the elder-tree bent down its bows into the water before him, and the sun shone warm and bright.
Then he rustled his feathers, curved his slender neck, and cried joyfully, from the depths of his heart,
I never dreamed of such happiness as this, while I was an ugly duckling.
The End
Beautiful graphics everyone.
Made me hungry too:)
I zipped through fast to post this unusual tango.
Talk about upper-body strength!

That is a precious little girl graphic, Amy! Thank you so much! I had a Christmas post of a sweet little dog earlier that Polly was talking about. Think I’ll start doing at least one a day, then more as the season goes on!!
Sure love this pink one you sent!

Our posts crossed in cyber space...LOL! Thanks, Amy! ;o)

Ahh .... that is a sweet goodnight puppy, Kitty.
Thank you for the compliments on yesterday’s Opening.
Have a Warm Fuzzy Wednesday.
Wonderful, Yorkie. Thank you.
Thanks, Jaycee.
As you can see I have been playing this morning.

Thanks, Jaycee. You’ve found another cutie.
Perfect graphic and great frame! And, I love the words, JC!!
It came from your cute poem’s advice!! LOL! And I knew you would like it.
Thanks Amy.
Thank you THANK YOU Amy!! He will love this!
Poor guy has had to run errands all day! That is what you get when you are raising grands! lol
What a cute kitty and thank you Amy for the birthday wishes. You dragged me out of lurkerdom today! :D Hubby and I are going out to dinner and a movie - “The Blind Side” - to celebrate. He bought me a shotgun - that fits my short arms - for a gift. What a guy! :D
I’m going to be buying her CD! Just checked and WalMart online has it for $11.97...
She has a absolutely pure voice!
I so agree yorkie... we live in a phony society!! I love being real!
Ditto jaycee!!
Awwwwwww wish those eagles were close by so I could watch them fly.
I usually always put my tree up the second week of December, but this year we just decided to get it up and overwith! LOL
I am still decorating this afternoon! It will take the rest of today I am sure.
Oh fun!!! Now I want some popcorn! Maybe after my decorating is finished!! Party time everyone!!!
Some confusion here, my birthday is tomorrow, Nan and I are in the hotel in Duluth and will celebrate over the weekend.
So, none of your birthday greetings are belated, and most appreciated! May have pictures later.
Again, thanks and while I’m raising Cain and having fun, I hope all of you are doing the same.
A friend sent me this from Australia.
Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the Politically Correct had taken away
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, cheques and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from pop stars, an X box, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd
It is rare to hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Through out the Government, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate The Lord Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
*Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate “Summer Holiday”
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout “Merry Christmas”
not “Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
holidays a
“MERRY CHRISTMAS”
Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!
Meg, hope you don't push yourself too hard. :(
How cute!
I’m jealous you already have your tree up and decorated! Helping a friend do her house THIS weekend, and then we will do mine NEXT weekend.
Good evening, Jen.
A shotgun! Smart man ... I’ve been saying that I want a small pistol but no one takes me seriously.
Sure glad that you came out of lurkerdom today. It is great to see you.
Enjoy dinner and the movie.
Come back to see us soon. :)
I haven’t decided on how much to decorate. Marissa wants to do every room but I’m thinking living and dining rooms.
We’ll decide after her birthday. How can a 10 year old keep you so busy?
We started trap shooting and really enjoy it but the 12 gauge and regular 20 gauge is too big for me. So he bought me a youth size in 20 gauge. The stock and barrel are a little shorter than the regular version so it fits my short arms and is easier for me to hold. For a pistol, I really like the Springfield Armory XD. The trigger is so smooth! We have the larger XDM and I can shoot it with great accuracy but it’s big for my hands. So the XD is the best size for me. We’re hoping to sell the Glock and get an XD soon as one comes in at the gun shop.
Thanks again for the birthday wishes. It’s good to hear from you!
