A 17-year-old Rimrock boy has been charged with three counts of child molestation after allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
The boy was arrested Dec. 10 based on information about a Dec. 1 incident.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office also arrested an employee of Beaver Creek School, claiming he interfered in the case and did not report the crime. Scott Worden, 42, has been charged with hindering prosecution.
Worden is an Information Technician for BCS and teaches one computer class. He is also pastor at a local church. According to YCSO, the teenage boy had been staying at the Worden home.
The YCSO report states the 13-year-old's mother reported the molestation on Dec. 8 "out of concern for her child's welfare."
The detective investigating the case arrested Worden Dec. 10. YCSO claims Worden knew about the allegations and used intimidation to dissuade the girl and her mother from reporting it. According to Arizona law, all school personnel must report any allegations of child abuse, and Worden was booked on that charge as well.
During the investigation, Worden has been re-assigned to work from home while Beaver Creek School officials discuss the matter with the school attorney and decide what action is appropriate.
According to state law, child molestation (sexual conduct with a child under 15 years of age) is a class 2 felony.
The boy was booked at the Juvenile Detention Center in Prescott. Worden was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center.
Obviously trying to sweeten his resume for Planned Parenthood.
Where he could be beaten up and raped, which is probably not a felony.
It would not be a felony if he had raped my 13 year old daughter.
Dotto. No criminal body, no criminal to prosecute.
