No Churchgoing Christmas for the First Family

The Senate vote on final passage of health reform almost scuttled their plans, but it looks like the First Family will still make it to Hawaii for Christmas. They've had a whirlwind holiday season so far, starting with the lighting of the National Christmas Tree, through hosting more than 50,000 people for 27 parties and open houses, and ending with a visit by the First Lady, Malia and Sasha, and the family's dog Bo, to deliver cookies to the Children's National Medical Center. The Obamas have also started their own holiday traditions in their new home, adding a Christmas wishing tree to the decorations festooning the White House.

But there's one common Christmas practice not on the First Family's schedule: a visit to Christmas Eve church services.

..The Obamas have attended Sunday services in Washington three times this year

So he "couldn't find a church for family worship because "it would displace the regular worshipers", blah, blah.

It doesn't make any difference where you worship, bonehead. The Lord doesn't care. Set a room aside in the White House and invite rotating pastors in to preach the Word. There'd be no shortage of acceptances.

Chaplains say the prayers every morning in the House and Senate...... and privately counsel Members in their offices whenever needed.

On our many freeper fund-raising cruises, Sunday mornings saw small, public salons regularly set aside for services, one for Protestants, one for Catholics, etc. One ship has Lutheran services in the movie theater.

The clergy on ships are volunteers who, along with their families perhaps, are cruising themselves. They get a discounted fare for their churchly volunteerism. The services are lovely.....just salons with chairs, an altar, and a piano brought in for the hymn-singing. The worshipers can view the gently-rolling Caribbean through the picture windows.

After all, in past and present ages, emperors and kings had their own private, elaborate, art-filled chapels in their palaces. Why not Obama in the White House seeing he's his own kind of royalty?

Actually, let's be real....The One believes in no one but Karl Marx, and he, Obama, is his Prophet.

What is a “Christmas wishing tree”? Anyone?

I’m taking bets that the asshole hasn’t been to a Christian church since he was elected. Any takers?

Agnostics and atheists don’t celebrate Christmas.

I am not sure how Black Liberation Theology and Christmas go together.

These creatures in the WH are simply dreadful, scornful people.

I just am so saddened how so many Americans don't see these people for who they really are.

With that being said... Merry Christmas!

Of course this is not a surprise; important to point it out however.
I highly doubt they have any core religious beliefs; like too many Americans.

“The Obamas have attended Sunday services in Washington three times this year”

What they couldn’t find a DC clone of Rev Wright?

Not long after his inauguration, he went to the National Cathedral for a photo op. I remember his doing a second photo op a few months later, and this article says there was a third visit.

Muslims can enter a Christian church as long as they don’t really participate in the service.

He skipped the National Prayer Breakfast—first time in decades that that has happened. He has noticeably said nothing about the Christian holidays. But he has celebrated several Muslim holidays in the White House.

I’d say he’s a Muslim. Not a terribly observant one, but he presumably thinks he’s much too important for the little details to matter. He’s either the Mahdi or the forerunner of the Mahdi, making way for the victory of Islam and the reign of Allah.

He’s not a Christian, so why should he visit a church? His religion is liberalism.

Thankfully, many people are beginning to see - much more quickly than I would have imagined.

My guess is that if they found a church they felt comfortable in, the press would have to check it out, and find another Jeremiah-Wright-type preacher denouncing the United States.

This whole “don’t go to church” is an interesting side-show. I remember two years ago this was my biggest concern about Fred Thompson, who also professed to be a Christian but also said he didn’t attend services.

No Churchgoing Christmas for the First Family

Even Reagan didn’t attend church very often while President.
RR said that he didn’t like being the center of attention, what with
the necessary presence of Secret Service personnel, etc.

I heartily disagree with Obama on major issues of the day, but personally
I’d cut him some slack on this one. Even if he’s arguably just a
worshipper of The Liberal Church.
