Snake - that was fast because if he were the coach on 12/31 Tech would have had to pay him an $800,000 bonus.

Ironically, they may now have to pay him considerably more if he sues (and I hope he does).

And attorneys are always forthright, no doubt. I have reason to believe that the story of the demand was true.

The story from the kid who got hurt is awesome. Its in one of the links I posted above. Funny how all these people come out in support of Leach, including a Heisman Nominee, and the only person supporting Adam James is his daddy.

One incident in 10 years... what a load of crap.

I always had the feeling that Craig James was a dick.

Leach put him in a dark room because he didn’t respect the fact that James had a concussion. I assume that is why James had on dark glasses. The fact is that Leach told trainers to find a dark, isolated place and stick Adam in it.

Per the DMN (Kevin Sherrington):
The message was clear: Leach didn’t like the diagnosis and/or James.

He also sent a message, perhaps inadvertently, to the rest of his players. Concussions may be the most underreported injuries in athletics, which makes them all the more dangerous. When a coach in effect tells his players this is how he deals with head injuries, it hardly encourages them to say they might have a problem.

Texas A&M Aggie here saying... this is going to leave a mark on everything.

The James clan and Leach and tt need to go buy lots of something to put on those wounds... a tanker load of Windex should do the trick.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

If he established a reputation as a faker, who’s going to believe him? Once personal credibility is gone, nothing you say can or will be trusted.

Pissed off for damn sure.

It was a perfect storm - an AD who wanted to get rid of his coach, a coach who was quirky enough to do something that some people might question, a prima donna player, a dad who wanted more playing time for his son, and a sports network who "broke" the story and reported the dads side of the story for the first 36 hours, setting the template.

Do you have some inside information that we don't have? Coach's attorney said in an interview that no such demand was made - the AD is acting like if Coach had just apologized this would have gone away - I don't believe he ever had any intention of believing the coach or giving him any leeway in the situation.

A high profile whiner made an accusation and it was just what gerald meyers needed to get rid of the Coach....

Although it is certainly possible that, this time, James was telling the truth in claiming an injury, teammates and coaches report in considerable detail that James has a history of malingering to avoid drills and practices (but not games), along with a generally bad attitude.

James sure did Cry Wolf a lot, and that may explain Leach's skepticism that, this time, the wolf had really come.

Guess what doctors say to do if a player has a concussion? A dark quite place with supervision.... and a doctor later said nothing detrimental was done - in fact, dark, quite is called for. How was that abusive?

A question that perhaps will be answered in the future, is Adam James was such a cancer in the clubhouse why did Leach keep him on the team all these years, I believe 3. was Leach letting his ego get in the way since he brought James onto the team when the assistants say he was not D-I material?
