Wow, Neil Young, Conan and NBC really missed the boat for a great comic opportunity tonight on Conan's last show by NOT having Neil Young sing "Pants on the Ground", a la Jimmy's impression of Neil doing the same a couple of nights ago. Very sad and missed insight...IMO. (I was truly shocked when it Did Not happen)... And it's all NBCers. :-(=
And Lord knows Neil could have used the Boost...lol.
I heard the Fallon impression this morning.
He sounds more like Neil than Neil does, IMHO. :)
Too bad he even gets a last show.
Instead of getting paid he should have to pay NBC for polluting TV!
dalreed...You’re sooooooo cynical.
Have a bowl of Fruit Loops and then get back to us.
Dont feel bad for Conan. He’s got $33 million reasons to be happy. I was shocked early today to learn that he employs 200 people to do his weak-ass show. And that 200 doesn’t include the sales team..
The "Tonight Show" was over when Johnny died. Jay was never the "Tonight Show"; Jay was a good guy who was forced to tell lousy jokes and bore people.
Conan is actually funny. Very funny.
no, Baynative, he sang Free Bird.
Mr. Young truly missed an opportunity to show his “fun” side.
That being said, I guess Neil does Not have a “fun” side.
(but I think we all already knew that).
Conan’s a good man and IMO a fair-minded comedian. I wish him the best of luck. NBC and Jeff Zucker screwed him royally. (just sayin’).
I asked my husband if he would fire me and give me 33 million! LOL
Tonight was a great show. Tom Hanks, ZZ Top band member, Will Farrell with cowbell... It was a great show.
Oh dalreed,
Take another puff, a glass of milk and get back to us next decade.
(I’m sure everyone you’ve ever come into contact with would appreciate it...lol)... LIghten up Pard, life’s too short.
“LIghten up Pard, lifes too short.”
NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please excuse me, typo... “dalereed”...(if anybody cares).
I agree, max.
I think the ZZ Topper was fake, but it came off well. And, of course, we Always need MORE COW BELL!
Conan will be back, no doubt. I think I can say now that I pity his competition in whatever time slot he ends up with.
September, 2010...we’ll see what happens.
I agree berdie, Jimmy did a Great job. My hat’s off to him - very impressed.
Neil played “Long May You Run.” The “Free Bird” cover was by Will Farrell.
My mistake, Reign. (It’s easy to get lost in Music Heaven...lol).
I think that was the real Dusty Hill.
The real Dusty Hill. Hmmmm. Not sure. Could be? Where can we find out this info?
Re Niel Young - “Southern man don’t need him ‘round, anyhow”
Instead of getting paid he should have to pay NBC for polluting TV!
Beck was there as well. It sure looked like one of the ZZ guys...
Conan was the host of the Tonight Show for the shortest time on record.
Yeah, my daughter noticed Beck, and that made me think that maybe the ZZ Top-looking dude was the real dude. But I thought his name was Billy something? And I didn’t recognize that beautiful pregnant woman. Was she Ferrell’s wife? I wonder who else famous or semi-famous was playing in that band?
Anyway, it was a pretty cool finale. Conan knows what to do with an axe as well..
Yeah, that was Beck, Billy Gibbons, and Ben Harper with Will Ferrell on Free Bird:

The girl was Ferrell’s wife, Viveca Paulin.
You gotta wonder if Barry had something to do with Conan getting fired.
1. Barry endorsed Conan's show and any endorsement from Barry is the "kiss of death". Just ask Martha Coakley.
2. Out of all the late night talk show hosts, Conan was the only one to have Sarah Palin on his show.
Maybe Barry, Rahm and Axlerod didn't like what they saw so they gave Jeff Zucker at NBC a phone call, told him to fire Conan and bring back Jay.
Agree with you, dalereed.
I’ve never found Conan to be funny (or Letterman, either). I believe he’s a frustrated wannabe for some freaky off-Broadway musicals.
Leno had great monologues and an interesting mixture of guests and bits. Conan, like Letterman, is even more focused on the liberal left than Leno and never has presented a balance of guests that might tend to be conservative. People in Middle America liked seeing something that wasn’t totally East or West coast liberal all of the time.
Conan’s show was like something produced by NPR/PBS; all liberal, all the time. He’s a multi-millionaire, so all of the whining about him getting canned by the very liberal NBC means nothing. Point remains that he took the Tonight Show from #1 to last place in a very short time. Maybe he can get a 30 minute show on the Comedy Channel.
Must be a generational thing, as I can’t stand Kimmel or Fallon, either, but I do like Craig Ferguson.
If you still like 4th grade potty jokes I suppose he is!
Actually, Leno goes for the blue stuff. Conan is much more intellectually humorous, along with the crazy fun stuff, too. Conan actually makes me laugh; the way Letterman did way back when.....
I must be overlooking something!
I can’t wait until TBS pulls the plug on this jackass, too.
Even his promos cause a reflex gag.
