There is no hero worship to my statement. I don’t worship any human being. I was just responding to what I consider petty attacks on a true competitor and a gentleman. You guys are being legalistic about NFL tradition. F15Eagle should be man enough to overlook just a petty “misdemeanor” on the part of Manning.
And you should be man enough to not get so all emotional about it. Face it, you were. Hence the attack... If F15Eagle’s attack was so petty, why bother to even reply to me now, a day later? He’s just another FReeper making his opinion heard about Manning. Others on the same thread said far worse. No need to make it personal.
I must disagree about your description of Manning. In my opinion, he is arrogant and not very sportsmanlike. Not qualities of a gentleman, but perhaps I am too wrapped up in the legalities of tradition, as you say. I’ll agree Manning is a competitor. One of the best. A pleasure to watch play, really.
And Manning should have been man enough to go over and congratulate his friend on a game well-played.
