As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd).

COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own. I hate to rain on the parade but I’ve bailed out of 24 this season. It just doesn’t have the spark that it used to have and the “human rights violation” thread is just nuts. A deal killer for me.

I watched the two-day season starter. They are usually the best episodes, anyway. The rest I save up in batches on the TIVO and watch 4 or 5 in a row as hours 5 through around 15 can be very drawn out and boring. Strange for a show that’s supposed to be real time and so much more happens than possibly could in a real 24 hour time span (I mean, really, how could they get Renee to the new CTU and prepped for a meeting with the bad guys in such a short time?).

Jack and Renee are supposed to be a couple this season. If that’s true, he had better calm her down! She’s a total psycho right now. She tried to chop off a guys’ hand and stabbed the villain way more times than she needed to. :-)
I love the show: always have. Chloe’s furrowed brow is just the best. What bothers me though are the fake Russian accents. They are so bad!
