How is soccer a “gay” sport? Tell me, Cletus, how long you could go onto a field and perform like these guys? Or is sitting at a bar with ten other slobs and ogling the fat arsed cocktail waitress your idea of a manly endeavor?

Slovenia is a bigger club, the US doesn’t do well against these teams. Remember last WC when the Czechs, who are very similar destroyed us, even though they also didn’t make it through.
That's the strategy part of it. Not unlike basketball when they're looking for a way to get it to the rim. Yeah, basketball is faster, but it's a much smaller playing area.
One of the leagues I played in (many moons ago) played on a very small pitch. It was a fast and usually high scoring game.

Almost the only American football I watch is the Redskins, and that’s a loyalty thing too. The way they’ve been playing the last few years, it’d have to be. I’m not much of a sports fan at all. Soccer is not as painful to watch as basketball, but more so than American football. Baseball, golf and hockey are not even on the horizon.
I will side with the soccer players on the (excess v. no) commercials.
