Things just keep getting better for people from California who moved to the Dallas Metroplex. First it was In N Out Burger.....now it's Del Taco. 70 to 80 units to open in Dallas Metroplex. And they even have great Fries too.

The Macho Combo burrito is still my absolutely greatest guilty pleasure.

Me too. I even make my own shells from masa. Usually use Beef (picadillo) that I make myself as well.

Since when does somebody come INTO Texas to show them how to make a taco?

Del Taco sounds like the afternoon drive jock on an oldies station the San Fernando Valley.

Del Taco = slightly better than Taco Bell but not as good as any roach coach.

There is only ONE exception I make. There is a taco restaurant within walking distance of my home. It is NOT part of a chain. It is a “mom & pop” operation and is run by adults who own it and have a vested interest in keeping me and everyone else healthy.................

Here in Texas....I have yet to find a Mexican Restaurant that deep fries their own tortillas for tacos. Virtually every single Mexican Restaurant in the Dallas Metroplex.....no matter whether expensive or cheap......they all use preformed “Taco Bell type” shells.

So far, its the worse thing about Dallas........the worse. Oh.and hard to find home made enchilada sauce too.....u know...red chili type sauce.

Here they actually use Chili con carne on their enchiladas. The same stuff I use to make a chili dog.....it’s their “Tex Mex” style.......

The first day I moved in.....my next door neighbor..also from CA said......”You won’t find any good Mexican Restaurants around.” ....he was mostly right........which is why I’m all turned on about Del Taco......LOL!

I would rather eat my own 2 day old just humped 50 miles in the desert wth 115 degree heat underwear than eat at Del Taco

I ate a lot of Del Taco food when I was in college. But I can’t remember what it tasted like, since I was almost never sober when I was eating it. :)

Del Taco? Meh. In-N-Out, though - lucky Texans.

Well, they seemed pretty thrilled when I had a whole new floor put into my house......had them build a new swimming pool in the back.....and will probably be ok when I buy a new Chevy Traverse in the next few months......

Point?......As CA exports capital....(me)..it continues to import poverty.(illegals).....

Texans love taking my money.....believe me. and I’d rather give it to them than people who work at the CA DMV, and CA retirees....they don’t get any more of my money.....none.....:)

Del Taco was in Texas 25 years ago.

What’s next? 7-Eleven comes (back)?

The influx of California restaurants is not surprising. Fully 80% of the 136 or so new students enrolled at our neighborhood elementary school (south mid-cities) last year were from California. California restaurants know that their customers are moving to DFW and will seek out those places that remind them of home.
