Another human foot found washed up on Washington beach (9 so far, footloose and fancy free)
The Province ^ | August 28, 2010 | Yolande Cole

A human foot was found washed ashore on Whidbey Island in Washington state on Friday.

The bare foot was found at about 11:15 a.m. by a tourist on the east side of the island, near the town of Greenbank.

It is the ninth severed foot to be found on the B.C.-Washington coast since August 2007, with seven of those in B.C.

“Based on what we’re seeing, we’re estimating that it either belongs to a female or a juvenile, because it’s a smaller size,” said Island County Det. Ed Wallace.

It’s pretty apparent there is a serial killer on the loose.

Possible. Except... the feet are washing up all over the Northwest. Out on the ocean, in Puget Sound, up in B.C... all over. If you ~wanted~ the feet to wash up and be found... those are pretty improbable places.

I'm thinking something else. But the question remains... why just feet? It's not like there's hands washing up somewhere else.

My first question remains, how are so many feet just successfully floating ashore in the first place. Shouldn’t the severed feet be heavy enough to just sink.

Decomposition gasses will float a corpse after a time, but I question if this would apply to the severed foot open to the sea and allowing the gasses to easily escape. I think they are being planted where they can be found.

"We’re up to 9 feet now."

That's not very deep. I once read something about 20,000 Legs under the sea....

Strange!

Maybe I am mistaken but I think we went to Whidby Island on a trip to the NW. We drove all over the island trying to find a spot where we could actually see a beach and the water. We couldn't find one, all we found were NO TRESSPASSING and KEEP OUT signs. It was before 2007 so we wouldn't have found any feet.

I live on a beach in Puget Sound. I've seen a V-8 engine block "wash up" on my beach. Explain that... :-)

My pal’s name is Foot Foot (Foot Foot)
He always likes to roam
My pal’s name is Foot Foot (Foot Foot)
I never find him home

I go to his house
Knock at his door
People come out and say
Foot Foot don’t live here no more

My pal Foot Foot (Foot Foot)
Always likes to roam
My pal Foot Foot (Foot Foot)
Now he has no home

Where will Foot Foot go
What will Foot Foot do
Oh, Foot Foot
I wish I could find you

I’ve looked here, I’ve looked there
I’ve looked everywhere
Oh, Foot Foot
Why can’t I find you?

Foot Foot, where can you be?
Foot Foot, why won’t you answer me?
Foot Foot, Oh Foot Foot
Wherever you are
I want you to come home with me

I don’t have time to roam
I have things to do
I have to go home
Oh, Foot Foot, where are you?

If Foot Foot didn’t like to roam so well
He would still have a place to dwell
Foot Foot, please answer me
I know where you are
You’re behind that tree

Foot Foot, please come to me
Foot Foot, now that you’re here
Won’t you come home
Foot Foot, promise me this
That you will never again roam

—The Shaggs
